That's a helluva offer, but I've never accepted freebies and have always paid my own way for stuff.

Its an -if I can afford it then I deserve it- thing.

Luxuries like holidays abroad are off the agenda for me for the next few years while I get myself sorted.
I refused one to Spain last year...

Thanks for that though.(I didn't expect that!)

Lodging is already paid for at the Nugget. You just need to cover your airfare, gambling, meals and I'm guessing you have to pay for your own escorts. Not that any of you guys would need an escort, of course ... :>Grin>

Eek: there's a reasonable chance I'll be heading into Glasgow in the fall for a wedding. How far away are you from there? I'd love to hook up and go for a pint (or ten) with ya'.

Eek,

No problem...it wouldn't have cost me anything either because I usually play enough to get more comps than I can use.

Too bad...I could see us playing video poker losing our shirts and you'd be saying "damn capitalists" and I'd be saying "damn leftists of the oversocialized type" and Phaedrus "damn government intervention" or something like that. Oh well, maybe another year...

I would think Vegas fits right in with your philosophy of life -- that we're all a bunch of bumbling losers -- no better place in the world to get that feeling than in Vegas!

XP,

Lodging at the Nugget is paid by the Rx!? Wow! I heard about the tons of free food, but hotel also!? Amazing. Coming from Europe, though, we'd probably have to stay longer than just the bash to make it worthwhile. I don't think I'll be making it anyhow unless I can think of something as entertaining as watching Phaedrus-Eek live.

Glasgow is a good night out.

In the city I just moved from, there are scads of Glaswegians. Only a handful of people from Edinburgh. I'm surprised you're from there, actually ... that lot always struck me as dead boring. If this couple is actually going to go through with it (we're taking bets here) then I'll be over in October. I'll let you know nearer the date.

Glasgow is far more entertaining than Edinburgh, its the nearest thing we have to a proper metropolis in Scotland.
Edinburgh is very reserved and cliqué compared to Glasgow.

The shipbuilding and heavy industry of the past gave Glasgow its
in-yer-face culture and attitude.
