and boise is a cute little team we all love esp. the home games on the blue field.........they would be 6-6 at best if the played in the sec or big 12....and that counts 3-0 cupcakes at the start

someone was bringing up boise's oklahoma win a couple of years back.
who cares about that, oklahoma wasnt that good that year.
since you want to bring that up- what did boise do when they came into Athens that year? was it that year or the next year? that quarterback was in shock and boise got that ass whipped from start to finish.
you simply cant play big schools week in and week out. its a real slap in the face to true football schools for you to even comment on it. it can not be too hard to get up for ONE huge game every year. you may have some big conference games, but one huge game is not asking alot of your team. please go grab a snack and think of something else to talk about.

6-6???? damn thats being nice-
who would they beat? auburn? lsu, uga, florida, tenn, alabama, miss, ,miss st, arkansas???? who? vandy??? who would they beat.
after the 1st game they would lose half of their starters to injuries. boise state couldnt afford the ambulance bills they would stacking up.

Not really Jake. Oregon put up almost 500 yds when it was all said and done and would've had a ton more points if not for TO's at the GL and such due to ridiculous playcalling and the Oregon staff not knowing their own personnel. Whatsmore, by the time Oregon finally figured out that their best passing QB was on the sidelines, they started passing all over BSU in addition to gashing them on the ground. Their defense isn't very good, trust me.

Come on. They didn't dominate OU either, and it's not even the same defense.

They got almost all their yards with Boise State in a prevent.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree then. My point being is that if Thomas had been the starter and Oregon didn't have to cycle through 2 more QB's during the same game in order to get to him, Oregon would've easily won as BSU already couldn't stop the run, which was all Oregon had for 3 qtr's of the game. As it was, they almost pulled it off. BSU can be had both on the ground and via the air, they're not very good.

Broncos were winning 32-13 in the 4th quarter and switched to a prevent which allows teams to pick up yards but not the big play. The Broncos allowed a total of 464 yards in that game with 217 coming in the 4th quarter.

Oregon got almost half their total yardage in the 4th after Boise swtiched to a prevent. Oregon was picking up 82.3 yards per quarter before that.

Although Thomas was obviously better than Harper and Misouli (or however it's spelled) he still only completed 52% of his passes against a Boise State prevent which is not impressive at all.

I don't see how you can say that was a bad defensive game for the Broncos.

For those saying Boise's D is not good, look at the games they were "supposed" to lose. In each of those games they had big leads & went into ultra conservative mode on defense. When they get a big lead on the supposedly superior teams, Peterson goes into a shell to try & protect the win. They dominated Oklahoma up until they felt it was safe to sit back. It almost bit them & he did it again when they had Oregon down for what they thought was the count until Oregon fought back against a defense that was begging them to score.

I'm going to concede that I shoudn't have used the word 'pathetic' originally (still in a bad mood from last night), but I stand by my comments that this current year defense isn't very good. I can't stress enough how different the Oregon game would've gone had Thomas been in from the beginning.

That being said, I sure wish Peterson would come to 'SC.

Well if Boise St was begging for Oregon to score at the end...there wish was granted almost to the point where they lost the game. Oregon threw deep passes and completed them on a prevent defense. I thought the purpose of a prevent defense was to stop the deep ball???? Uh good one!

Yeah that's not true at all. They completed like 2 passes for more than 25 yards in the 4th and none of them went for more than 40. Just simply not true.
