Downs was pitching perfectly well until Gibbons comes out and puts in a right handed pitcher to face Garciaparra who is hitting .222 versus lefties.

FIRE THAT MOTHERFUCKER
you live up there, with the money they spent and the results they have, HOW DOES THIS CLOWN HAVE A JOB STILL???

Had the Under as well fellas

John Gibbons has no brain

If we learned one thing tonight, it's that Toronto CANNOT BE TRUSTED with an under or ML pick the entire game. Gibbons is just mentally incapable of making smart managerial decisions.

Take Toronto First 5 from now on. ML and Under backers would have won today

WHY take out Downs?!!? he was doing just fine

i know emotions are running high and you guys have a right to be pissed.

but seriously - do you want a mediocre lefty to face the best bats in the dodgers lineup (righties nomar and kent).

.. or a guy with an era of less than 1.00 who has been unhittable this year?

i dont care if downs was looking ok. you get beat with your best guys. and janssen has been awesome this yr.

I honestly gave up on this game after Pierre got out to start off, they were ice cold, then i check back after 10 minutes and its 8-3

God Bless John Gibbons and his awesome bullpen

BTW what the fuck happened to Vernon Wells?

He is like Melky Cabrera up there

I think from pure statistics its rather obvious that Wells and Abrue were on steroids and now arent

I don't have a problem with taking out Downs

I do have a problem with leaving Janssen in there when he clearly didn't have his best stuff tonight. Any competent manager would have seen this and yanked him after he gave up two hits.

Not Gibbons.

Gibbons lacks vision, intelligence and the ability to make solid decisions

No i was on the dodgers too. I have had all the dogs today and killing the books. Took a round robin with Bal, Colo, LAD, and pitt. 40 to win 570. Go PITT

Stealing money a la Glenn Robinson and other NBA bums

Wells is mailing it in every day; hitting .245 and 6 HRs and smiling all the time.

valid point for sure. this is one area where ozzie guillen, for all the criticism, is outstanding. he doesnt fu.ck around with his bullpen if theyre not getting it done. he will go out there and yank anyone if they dont have their best stuff. i agree with your point. i dont, however, agree with the argument someone made (flave perhaps) that janssen shouldnt have replaced downs to face nomar/kent. but its obvious he didnt have his best stuff and the inning could have been salvaged with a quicker hook

janssen has given up exactly TWO earned runs .... since APRIL.
hard to fault gibbons. just a fluke bad outing.

He had no reason to take Downs out with 1 out having already gone 1.1 innings of one hit ball. No reason whatsoever. Garciaparra was hitting .222 versus lefties this year and Gibbons takes a lefty out (who has been doing a great job) and he puts in a righty who is due to pitch a bad innings. It makes no sense and he has done it all year. Nomar loves hitting righties and John Gibbons fed him one and is opened the floodgates.

Im sick of this guy, he needs to be fired along with JP Ricciardi.

Wells is another Vince Carter...always smiling and not giving a fuck about anything. All his good stats from the last few years come when games are out of hand. All his HR's come when the Jays have a big lead or are down by a lot. He sucks with guys in scoring position and never comes through with big hits or HR's.
