You used the word etiquette in your thread title. How is jumpng onto a table that's in play not bad etiquette? I am not refusing to understand anything. I have played a lot of blackjack in my time and having people appear out of thin air to bet on a shoe in play is NOT good etiquette.

Perhaps you're misinterpreting all the pissed off looks you get for for the plays you make or don't make.... but the truth is... just merely jumping onto a table mid shoe is what players don't like.

I'm not trying to call you out here, but rather I am just replying to your thread with a coherent reply. The guy who replied back with 1 word nonesense... Whatever man.. If you don't understand, then I suppose that's just the way it is. I am giving you the perspective of gamblers. We play to win but we are social as well. I can't even begin to imagine being in a casino for a blackjack session without banging fists with my fellow players. I get the feeling you don't quite get that far b/c you're not on a table long enough to get to know anyone there.

We are talking about 2 different things here. I was replying to your comment about how mid shoe jumpers can effect the outcome. This is nonsence to me. However I can understand how people could be annoyed by it. I never do this. I sit at a table for hours upon hours, and love the interaction when you are with the right type of people. I play 100 percent by the book, but could care less what anyone else does.

these are the truest words Ive ever read.....

Idiots will think that I have changed the ENTIRE shoe. Yes, I might have helped everyone out as well. When I am playing, I am counting every card, but I dont care AT ALL whether you hit or stay on a 12 versus a dealer 12. What you do is your business since you placed the bet. It is your money and you can whatever you want with it. I have seen people take hits on 17 all of the time, and I could less. I would prefer people NOT taking a card at 15 or 16, but only because it will make the shoe last longer. Because at the end of that shoe, I am gone in search of another table to watch for a while.

People that are BOTHERED by how others play need to just leave the casino. If you did not put up their bet for them, then you have NO BUSINESS at all telling them how to play. There is NO SUCH thing as etiquette at the blackjack table. The players "playing poorly" are probably helping your bankroll rather than hurting it.:103631605:103631605:103631605:103631605

about blackjack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:toast:
I am at a point I refuse to play it unless I know the all players at the entire table..
I have one rule that I follow with blackjack & I do it for my own superstitions not as a courtesy to others!!!!! but I NEVER START UNTIL A SHOE IS OVER & A NEW ONE BEGINS.... Once again, I must say this is for me & me only....Not any courtesy in the mix....
...!!!
I cannot figure how EVERYONE that plays at a $5 to $10 table is a EXPERT at the game. Why don't we see these MORONs at the $100 minimum tables????? These are the same people that wouldn't strike up a conversation with you at the pool, or at the bar or at a LET IT RIDE TABLE if your life depeneded on it. At a BJ table they will not shut the fuck up!!!!!!! I try to follow the rules of BJ when playing but I honestly could care less what anybody does... Honesty!! I could care less what they hit or stand on..... And even "Following the rules" I mix it up once and awhile if the shoe is flat or the dealer is hitting 7 card 21's... why not your losing anyway...... I gotta say I play with a guy that is gotta be one of the worst players in the world.... not much of an exageration here... this guy does dumb shit I cannot explain.... Ive seen him stand on 7 & 8, double down on 14??? split 4's & my favorite.... split a pair of face cards (20) & the dealer was showing a 8.... And my point here is I normally end up winning with this DUNCE.... how could anyone with an IQ above that of a 3rd grader say whats in the card.... thats why it is gambling...... GL & keep your mouth shut at the table.........:toast::lol:

Others' actions have no real effect on your hand, IMO, so PO is correct.

Taking away cards from the other player(s) in a nice + shoe, is a legit gripe.

I don't play shoes too much, but don't many places force you to wait, so you can't always enter at a good time ?

I find old Asian women to be the worst players to have at your table, when you make a close call like not doubling on 11, or standing on a 16 vs. 10, etc. If your ( correct counting) move causes a dealer 21.... they have something to say. I ran into one of these last week playing double deck. She would get all pissed off if I dropped back from 2 hands to one ( once the deck got negative). We exchanged a lot of nasty words. Dealers, bosses and players enjoyed our mutual hatred of each other immensely ! :):)
