Soccer plays for Tuesday 1/12 These are all English plays, either EPL or ECL.
Derby County ML (-150) Risking 3 units to win 2.
Derby has been one of my go to teams in the ECL. They are near the top of the table and playing well. In their last two league games, they did lose to Middlesbrough (who is atop the league) and drew @ Leeds, which isn't a horrible result. Leeds and Reading are about on par in terms of points this season. Reading has not been in great form however. They have 2 wins in their last 4 league matches, but both at home and both against sides below them in the table. Reading have lost their last six road matches, in league, while Derby is unbeaten in their last 8 home matches, with 7 wins and the one draw vs. B&H Albion, who is currently a top 5 side.
A bit juicy, but I'm laying it here. Could be tight, but I think Derby gets it done 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1.
The rest (all risking X to win 1 unit, unless otherwise noted)
AFC Bournemouth ML (-110) -- Hoping the Cherries can continue their recent run and stay ahead of the relegation spots. On paper West Ham might be a good play, but they haven't fared well on the road, so I'm going with the "worse" team at home at about an even price.
Middlesbrough ML (+105) -- Middles is another of my go to teams. They are atop the league and playing great. Brentford is no push over, and is at home here, but I have to roll with the hotter team, even on the road, especially at +$.
Rotherham-B&H Albion OV 2.5 (+105) -- Rotherham can sure give up goals sometimes (44 GA in 25 league matches). BHA hasn't scored in FIVE straight matches, so this might be a bit risky, but I am banking on Rotherham being the perfect remedy for their scoring ills. BHA has played some tougher sides in their recent drought. I'm thinking 2-1 here.
Sheffield Wednesday -0.75 (-130) -- Was hoping for a better ML here, but it was too juicy, so laying the Asian Handicap -0.75 goals, which would mean a push on half my wager if they only win by 1. Bolton is really bad, and REALLY bad on the road. They haven't won a road league match since April (last season), and only have 3 draws in 12 league road matches this season, zero wins. The draws were vs. Blackburn, PNE, and Charlton, all bottom tier sides. Sheffield is on the cusp of the much desired top 6 here, and this is a match they must win if they want to end up there.
That's it for today. Considered the home sides (La Coruna and Sevilla) in the Copa Del Rey, but didn't like the lines.
