I liked it quite a bit. But I'm a little impartial after seeing what goes into making movies. I went through 5 years of drama classes and plays (mainly behind the scenes stuff) and a couple film classes, and I can tell you that making a movie in just 3 long takes is a monumental achievement.

I agree about Whiplash. It was the most entertaining movie by far for me, along with Grand Budapest. The final scene of Whiplash was one of the best that I've seen.

Never saw Shakespeare in love. Big Lebowsky is a classic. Saving Private Ryan is outstanding.

+1

Big Lebowski is my run to film when I'm feeling down and need a laugh. John Goodman lines are epic. Jeff Bridges nails it.

Saving Private Ryan is epic, but I would give the Oscar to Big Lebowski. Never watched Shakespeare in love either... wow... can't believe it beat those 2 films.

99% of the people I know that seen Birdman hated it. I am not judging you. in 1998 I would have voted for big lebowski or saving private ryan and you would have voted for shakespeare in love which ended up winning.

only explaination about Birdman is you must have been high. :toast:

Scott is this what you were watching?

I was bored the entire time during Boyhood. Best part of that movie was when it was finally over.

Waste. I'm not buying the shit their feeding on that movie. I mean if you're gonna spend 12 years making a film about a boy growing up at least make it an interesting story.

What's Linklater going to do next, 24 years of Manhood? I have a feeling he's done with that grand experiment. I didn't care for Ethan Hawke 12 years ago, and I don't care for him now.

Hawke has been in some good movies. I thought Predestination was very good, so was Devil. I just don't care for him much as an actor.
