For once I agree with Maher. I wonder how many of you would react if someone came to your place of work and threw a cup of beer in your face?

That muthaf*cka who threw that cup deserved more than an asswhipping.

So you pinheads that believe that Artest should be suspended for the entire season actually believe that fans can do ANYTHING to athletes without reprisal? Are you kidding me? So if I go to an NBA game, and because I don't like Kobe bryant, I go into the bathroom, urinate into a cup, and then pour it on Kobe as I walk past the bench, should he just sit there and take it like a man, or in this case should we say a woman? The fans should be held just as accountable as the athletes when they provoke. The point here is the length of the suspension. The entire season? Most prudent individuals would deem that exorbitant. Those with inherent biases against Artest would conclude that the punishment matches the crime. I am not one of those biased people. I have a college education, and there is a seriously incongruent scenario in terms of the punishment. If Artest was so wrong, then let the police charge him. Stern went too far in not allowing Artest or anyone else for that matter to stand up for themselves like a man when totally humiliated by some intoxicated fans.:madmad

Bad analogy Truth but I'll play. Lets say I'm a big exectutive making six figures at a VERY successful corporation. Some 20K a year guy in the janitorial department of my firm (who I've never met) comes into my office and throws a beer on me. What would I do? Not a fvcking thing. After getting over the shock of a guy I've never met throwing a drink in my face, I would call security and have the guy removed from the building and call the HR department and have him dismissed.

Regardless how you would react don't think for a second that every poster would react the same way as Artest. It would take more then a silly ass janitor throwing a drink on me to put my job or career in jepoardy. Fvck with my family or my livelyhood and we got a whole new ballgame

Now if I was working at a Mcdonald's and some drunk customer threw his Shamrock shake on me thats a different story.

Weekend,

"So you pinheads that believe that Artest should be suspended for the entire season actually believe that fans can do ANYTHING to athletes without reprisal"

Who the fvck said anything like that? I've read lots of posts on this matter and NO ONE has said a fan can do anything. GHEEEZ buddy were talking about a DRINK not someone putting your life in jeopardy. Some of the examples you guys are using are some of the silliest **** I've heard

The fan should be penalized as well, but for the Ronnie, and remember I am a Indiana supporter, he needs to learn a few things as do many I concur. I guess on my end it's discipline learned from military and family, but all Pro athletes need this. Every one of them.

Self-control is the ability to make choices about how one behaves and acts rather than relying on impulses. Instead of acting on instinct or immediate impulse, people - with self-control pause and evaluate a situation and the consequences that may result from their behavior.

I do understand it is easier said than done, but some of us have it I assure anyone.

You guys are forgetting something... THEY WERE HITTING INNOCENT PEOPLE TOO. Everybody knows that we'd all kick someone's ass if they threw a beer at us. But at the same time those of us who have intelligence that exceeds that of a caveman would not hit random bystanders as well.

just for the record...if you see me at a game and throw a cup of beer on me..i'm whippen your azz. we can talk about the lawsuits later but at that time your azz is mine.... just keeping it real and not saying things that sound good on the forum to make me "elite". and to put it in its proper perspective, most of you would react in the same manner but have the opportunity now to sit back and judge. lol..yeah i know yall wouldn't react that way....you would just sit there and wait for security to come and find out what happen, write a police report and let it go. get real..lol
:icon_conf :icon_conf :WTF:

Ive been hit with dozens of things at sporting events including liquids, Ive never once started a fight, and several times have asked security to find out who is tossing crap from up above. what is so hard to figure out? Is proper behavior that hard for you? im sick of cement head thugs going after other thug head ass*oles just to Prove that they are a "man".

artest said that was the 4th time in a game someone had thrown a cup at him. i do remember one of the times was in a celtic playoff game.

he said he just got frustrated.

well, two things happened here.

1.ron will learn not to go into the stands
2. fans will not throw cups at ron anymore

artest is a saint. i would have went into the stands and beat the guys ass the first or second time in my carrer a cup was thrown at me. at least if you take care of it asap it sets an example to the rest of the fans not to throw cups.

That's fantastic, but the muthaf*cka that threw the cup wasn't attacked by Arrest -- the skinny guy still holding his cup was.

Basically what you are saying, aside from the implicit in that you'd sell your first born in exchange for a chance to sniff Arrest's jock, is that if I, say, hit Dicky with a poker chip at the bash he then has the right to beat the ever-living-sh*t out of you?

Is that what you're saying TT?

You not only sound like an imbecile, but I will take a guess you look exactly like one, too.

I guess Maher and everyone who agrees that the fan deserved a good beating wants a sniff of Artest's jock strap?

Truthstretcher,
Clearly, Ron Arrest is justified in attacking an innocent observing fan because some other guy threw a plastic cup at him. This is, additionally, confirmed because you think that I might look like an imbecile.

Imagine all this "mastery" coming from a guy that thinks we should attack Iraq because Saudis and Afghans attacked us on 9/11.

You, sir, are a complete idiot.
