William Hill offers the best odds on these cards in the valley: 13 to 1 on four teams, 100 to 1 on seven, and 825-1 on tens. What other place is equal, let alone better than that in Las Vegas? These are the payouts for half-point cards, so you're always getting at least a half-point better than off the board. Sometimes even more than that. Someones moving off the 3 or 7. Sometimes moving through the 3 or 7 like this week with the Chiefs -2.5 and Ravens +7.5.
Yeah all that sounds basically familiar to what the old Leroy's cards used to be. I don't doubt the WillHill card odds are better tho, by a bit, than Leroy's was.
I've been racking my brain to recall what my payout would have been on that 11 Team Card, IIRC I'd only played it for a dollar or a dollar and 50 cents (if that was possible, allowed) and I stood to win not much over a Grand ($1000).
Feels like the payout was around $1100, maybe upper 900 dollar-ish tho. Its been, like, 23 years 1993 I believe....
All I recall clearly is that My Homebase was Golden Nugget, Harrahs was a distance away but walkable and I was Drunk, naturally, having had so many games come in as needed then at Halftime of the last game I needed which was In Hand, covering easily obvious I was gonna Cash somewhere around a Grand off of a Dollar or so bet I carried my drunk ass over to Harrahs, no easy feat when you're drunk or even not drunk cuz there were no sidewalks that part of Laughlin
For a long time there was not even a major Grocery Store in Laughlin NV. Least not in the Casino District. Just The AM/PM and The Italian Delicatessen.
I eventually made it to Harrah's to watch that final game fall to pieces and lose.
