Really don't get the TP thing. Wife stocked up on it, I don't get it. If worse comes to worse that's one of the last things I'm worried about.
Might have an itchy ass but you're still gonna live.

If used as tissue paper it's likely a half or even one quarter the price of a "box of tissue paper"

2ply as always is best

I was just in Publix - it is really ominous - totally packed - and no one is talking - and it feels like everyone is staring at each other - if someone was to cough the entire place was going to go into panic mode

There are two clickbait sites that are spreading the panic. One is the DM and the other is DR. They both get enormous traffic and in the DM's case publish non-stop photos of supermarkets with empty shelves and people in mobs in the stores. Many of the supermarkets are located in ethnic, low income and low education neighborhoods of NYC. Unfortunately the mania then spreads all over the five boroughs. Now people are acting insane. The markets are doing nothing to stop this as they are making money hand over fist. This is going to cause a critical mass. The trucks that deliver products all over the country can't keep up with demand. I didn't think it was this bad until I saw the latest pictures where high priced markets like Whole Foods are being cleaned out. So what I wrote about in a previous post is coming to fruition much more quickly than I thought. I would imagine many people have literally bought 3-6 months worth of food and supplies. How are restaurants going to be able to get food to prepare when people are going this nuts. They are suddenly not going to be able stay supplied to cook meals. This is a Doomsday Preppers dream. I went to some survivalists trade shows when I lived in Las Vegas years ago. Generators, weapons, freeze dried foods, you name it.

Supermarkets will always stay open and the government will allow deliveries. They are not going to starve out the country. This supermarket panic is a bit ridiculous. I did stock up on toilet paper and have around 150 16 ounce bottles of water. Do people think they are going to turn off the water processing plants so you can't get tap water. If this insanity continues the government will have to go to food ration books like they did in WWII. Hoarders are causing the issues now. It's like during a snowstorm prediction in the Winter. 7 inches of snow results in idiots buying groceries for 10 days when they might only be shut in their house for one day.

Spot on. If shit does hit the fan like that all these hoarders will be wishing they had bought ammo like I did and not TP

It's happening here in Reno. I hadn't been able to get toilet paper or distilled water for 3 days, finally found some yesterday after driving around to random places. Home Depot's a good spot that hasn't been sacked. But Walmart has been gutted everyday of canned foods water, toilet paper, ect. Funny thing is they had plenty of OTC medication. No one's buying that stuff. Everyone's thinking everyone but them is gonna get sick. If things do go really bad, I think my pain relievers will fair well on the open market.

yesterday, costco was like a war zone. over 100 people outside waiting to get in
and that was 2 hours after the opening. i was there because I had to return something.
i had to park behind the Costco due to the parking lot frenzy. every register had at least
7 people in line, most with very full carts. the self serve registers were even more mobbed.
the aisles looked like LA traffic at rush hour. i didn't have the guts to actually try to buy
anything.
