Interesting. Where is that in the rules?

I guess that means since I didn't use the 5 minute edit window that both plays are void? But the post was edited at 8:08 - 22 minutes before the start of the VAN game. I'm not 100% sure the VAN play should be NO ACTION - any opinions on this?

SHARPENER's anecdotal account suggests a (unwittingly I'm sure) shady interpretation of the RULES section.

I'm thinking Vancouver should count

especially since I used STL and need to gain some big ground on WITTY

easy mate...I don't want to start thinking that avatar might be your real life attitude

At least not too often

AHHHHHHH.......They're coming in again!

Lol... I wasn't upset at all. I'm just sorry I caused a fuss. At this point I'm assuming BOTH my plays are NO ACTION. I'll stop posting in this thread for now and wait.

I totally agree it should count as mentioned and am against this strange rule. I was just letting ewitty know how JOH graded my plays on a day in which the exact same thing happened to me.

I know I said I'd stop posting (sorry) but I wanted to add that I think the most important thing is that the rules be applied consistently. If that's what happened to SkateSharpener's plays then that's what should happen to mine, whether the play turns out to be a winner or loser.

Ok here's the deal... back on Jan 18th, SkateSharpener made this post:

I ruled all his plays as no action because they were ALL either added or changed after the 5 minute window. This had nothing to do with posting a play late which is the case with ewitty.

For posting late, the rule states: if you are 1 minute late, you are NO ACTION for any relevent games.

Therefore, only the game posted late (Detroit) will be graded no action. Vancouver is still a valid play.

What about the fact that I used *more* than the 5 minute edit window to edit my plays?

• Players will be allowed to use TheRX.com 5 minute edit window to edit typos, or mistakes.

Doesn't that mean that by failing to use the 5 minute edit window, I contravened this rule? I guess I still don't understand the difference between what I did and what Sharpener did. Sorry I'm dense.

As a moderator, I have the ability to see what edits were made and I realize that ewitty errored in making his edit after the 5 minute window but only to ask the question and not to alter his picks. That I can confirm and will make a special exception in this case based on the evidence before me.

In short, having Mod SUPER POWERS is kinda like being Superman and having XRayVision so you can see through walls and into the girls' soccer team shower.

I can't say I like that answer, but I accept the mod's decision as final and thank you for the explanation. DET doesn't count, VAN does. Thank you again and sorry for causing that mess. I guess that's what happens when you get home at 7:58.

Well, I'm glad the VAN play worked out for me. I wanted to apologize again for rushing to get my plays in and causing the mess in this thread as a result. It won't happen again.

Also, I wanted to thank JOH again for being so on the ball and replying to the thread so quickly. It's amazing how well he's been running the contest, grading without error day after day, and responding promptly to questions. You're an asset to the forum JOH, and even though I didn't agree with your decision I hope you know how much respect I have for you. So thank you!

JOH, what you explained did the trick

To the reader at large, all "edits" present the possibility of shadyness.

But from the High Center Court seat of the RxMod, you can accurately see exactly the Before and After.
