SHRINK - My Ding-a-Ling is a classic.

I remember when it came out... as kids we couldn't beleive he was able to say that on the radio.

And in the sing-along near the end he sings " I just want to play with my DICK!"

Chuck has said in interviews he says I just want to play with my DING and not dick but we all know what he sings

I do have to agree with SPIVE, one of the few albums you can listen from start to end, all songs are great!

Janie got a Gun - Aerosmith
Shook me all night long - AC/DC

Spive, my favorite Pink albums in order:

Animals
The Wall
dark side of the moon
meddle
wish you were here
The final cut
obscured by clouds
The piper at the gates of dawn
saucerful of secrets
"More"
atom heart mother

Didn't include any of the later stuff because IMO the final cut was the last album...
Gilmour's band is ok but is not Pink Floyd...
I do not see how a non-original member can take over the band!!!
Bring back Syd and Roger lol.

Anything by the band Live has to be up there as well. Lightning Crashes in particular.

Dicky, have a question about Street Hassle. In the middle of the song there is a voice over.Sounds a hell of a lot like Springsteen's voice.Any idea if it is.Journey Thunder Road is my pesonal favorite, but Jungleland is more of a classic.

I agree my "FAVORITE" Pink Floyd is ANIMALS as well...but without question, Floyd's BEST is by far "DARK SIDE."

Why ANIMALS is MY FAVORITE FLOYD.

In the days of our youthful innocence, we would fill a car of partying friends and head to the country’s back-roads (avoiding city cops) on summer evenings, seeking a solace place under the moon and stars to park, ponder and party along the gravel roadside or pasture. In the peaceful darkness of our night, we explored deep philosophical questions and thoughts centered around the “types” of people our world presented us as ANIMALS played DOGS, SHEEP and PIGS from our customized “quality” car stereos, associating such animal types with the traits of the people who surrounded our world.

Those formidable teenaged days found us asking more questions then finding answers.

Inspired by the provoking thought’s our questions asked, we sought lyrical answers while listening to ANIMALS…the treasured memories of youth, good friends, the innocents of elevating our minds to what we found to be a higher-platonic level will always be associated with FLOYD'S ANIMALS.

It is indeed Bruce. When Lou was recording the album he was in the same studio where Bruce was recording I believe Darkness. Lou came down and asked him if he would like to do the track, Bruce agreed. It sounds so good you would have thought lou wrote it for him

I would have to agree with that!

The thing about animals for me is, when I was in High school and running track and X-country. I would listen to it before and after every event...

If I had a good day I was "breaking away from the pack"

If I had a bad day, I was "dragged down by the stone"

Good choice Spive.....Floyd is in my all time top 3 bands....and probably the best "live" band ever......

But if I HADDA pick just ONE song, it goes to Clapton for "Layla."

so many great songs, not really one best for me, but i ll mention a few i love and come to mind,

gentle on my mind (i like the elvis, and waylon jennings version)
carmelita by warren zevon (carmelita hold me tighter, i think i am sinking down, and i am all strung out on heroin on the outskirts of town.)
whisky in the jar by thin lizzie
memory motel, always loved that minor stones tune.
wild is the wind, lilac wine, great versions by nina simone.
a lot of dylan songs, senor, i shall be released, ALL OF DESIRE (sarah, romance in durango, one more cup of coffee (awesome song, your mouth is sweet, your eye are like to jewels in the sky, your back is straight your hair is smooth on the pillow where you lie, one more cup of coffee fore i go to the valley bellow), a minor gem, you are gonna make me lonesome when you go.
Hallelujah by leonard cohen.
ALL OF ASTRAL WEEKS by van morrison, esp. way young lovers do and madame george.
stars fell on alabama, billie holiday.
i must have been blind, tim buckley.
i 'm not like everybody else, kinks.
springsteen, atlantic city, fire.

plenty, plenty more.

Also, radar love, what a great song, one of the first tunes i ever heard that really made an impression on me, and dock of the bay is such a great, smooth, cool song.

SPIVE and Cecil:

Gotta give it to you guys, you got a helluva taste for good music. And I also agrre that the BEST P.F.'s album ever is The Dark Side of the Moon.

Check this out taken from http://pinkfloyd.com/darkside.html:

"The Dark Side of The Moon was released on March 24 1973, and since, has become one of the most succesful albums of all time, selling in excess of 35 million copies worldwide. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this classic and groundbreaking album, The Dark Side of The Moon will be re-issued on March 31 2003 as a Hybrid SACD combining a remastered stereo version, and, for the first time ever, a mindblowing 5.1 Surround Sound mix. Also re-issued to celebrate the anniversary of this classic record will be the vinyl version in its original packaging.

Let me tell you guys, I already have some of my favorite albums as Hybrid SAC remastered versions. This album has just entered a whole new level.

Thanks for the update...sounds like a "mindblowing" must get mix...

Wondering now, what effect such a mix will have on the Wizard of Oz movie sync?
