I want to, no, I NEED to see a good story, a shocker, some high level of play and underdog story, coming out party (coming out party as in playoff success) for somebody like Giannis or preferably Harden where they upset the Warriors. Maybe even the Celtics. It can happen. Doubt it but I hope so. I don't take the Raptors or Sixers or the other teams seriously.

Feels like Embiid might not be too long for the game unfortunately. They pushed all-in pretty fast on the Harris/Butler trades, gaveup some good young players that were on cheap contracts and both guys are FA's in a few months.
Makes you wonder if they think the window with him is pretty small. He's hurt right now and it isn't even an injury, just "knee soreness" but he's been out for most of the last 2-3 weeks.

This is a comical argument to make that Harden is at #1 right now. I can dissect and destroy that notion if that is what you are saying but it's a waste of my time. It's so obvious he's not the best player. He's one of the best.
As if a player who wasn't the best player in the NBA hasn't won MVP before. MVP award doesn't mean they are best in the league.
So to answer your question yes, yes they do give MVPs to guys that aren't best in the league.

No personal harm meant to you, it's your claim that boggles my mind. I'm a Harden fan and I despise Kevin Durant but to say Harden is at number one is preposterous. To think stating that he is MVP and that supports your case is just as incorrect.
Kevin Durant's defensive ability great destroy's Harden's and we all know what he can do offensively. Harden is pretty spectacular on offense too, that's a given, but defensively? There's not comparison. So Harden is not number 1, maybe not even number 2 but you can debate that. Number 1? Come on man.

It's a weird situation in Philly. It does seem like they are all in with super high expectations. Simmons obviously isn't even in the conversation for best player. But people act like he should be.
The guy is in his 2nd season! NBA players usually take like 4-8 years to hit their peak. Even Giannis who seems to have arrived early is in his 6th season, Harden is in his 10th or something. Ben is still on his 2nd!
