his father was/is (not sure anymore, probably long retired) my newphew and nieces dentist over in Pomona/montclair/Claremont area. They are all inland empire boys.

If I lived within walking distance of Main Street SB, Work would be the only reason to venture past PCH.

If I had to rank what beach towns in Socal I'd most like to live....$$$ being no object:

San Clemente (OC)
Corona Del Mar (OC)
Seal Beach (OC)
Manhattan (LA)
Newport/Balboa (OC)
Hermosa (LA)
Huntington (OC)
Pacific (SD)

Grew up in Hermosa, live in Huntington now...Trying to find a place in Seal, reminds a ton of Hermosa as kid with a few more bars...FWIW, got married off the coast of Maine (Bar Harbor) and Maine has a very awesome coast...CSFBB

Nah, my skill set took me all the way through high school baseball; I did have some teammates/friends play at Fullerton, USC, UC (Santa Barbara), Nevada, UCLA and then a ton play juco or D-2...

Just a season ticket holder/alumni/Diamond Club, etc...CSFBB

all this socal love! im here in HB, but the best thing about seal beach is that it is in the middle of everything, yet its just a sleepy town during the week. lots of good bars and a great quiet beach. st patricks day in seal is crazy as well as the day before thanksgiving. where else can you run into athletes like mcguire, jack haley, jeff/jared weaver and others without much fanfare in socal? somehow seal (and sunset beach) manages to keep the idiots out.

I would throw Malibu in the mix for sure. Less crowds for surfing and great beaches.

Picking the best ocean-side place is one thing, picking the
best "affordable" ocean-side place is another.

Right on ! Pescadera just south of Half Moon Bay isn't quite so spendy and pretty nice yet close to the excitement of Frisco !

Ocean Springs, Mississippi. A beautiful low crime, good school, scenic, artistic,
oak tree filled community only one mile across the Biloxi Bay from Casinoland. Also, Billions of hurricane redevelopment dollars are being dumped down there by the government which doesn't hurt.
