It should be noted that the BadCo debut album contains 3 numbers that had their debuts with Mott The Hoople. Two of them were studio outakes, but one of those (Can't Get Enough) was re-written and transfomed into "One of the Boys", which is a superior number. The did a great job on the other outtake (Movin' On), while Ready For Love doesn't touch the original.

Hot Fuss is the debut studio album by American rock band The Killers, released in June 2004.[1] The album reached #1 in both the UK and Australia and was certified 3x Platinum in Canada (300,000 units) by the CRIA on October 17, 2005.[2] It stayed in the Top 50 of the Billboard 200 chart for over fifty weeks.[3] Singles from the album include, in order released, "Somebody Told Me", "Mr. Brightside", "All These Things That I've Done" and "Smile Like You Mean It". Towards the end of 2005, The Killers also released the album on 7" vinyl in a box set of 11 discs.[1] On side A of each disc is the album track and on the B-side are non-album tracks.[1] It is also one of the five most recent albums listed as one of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Hot Fuss sold more than 2,500,000 copies in the first year of its release.[1] Since being nominated for five Grammys, it has achieved worldwide sales of more than five million units.[3][4]

Cowboys From Hell
Apettite for destruction
Badmotorfinger

Badmotorfinger was not Soundgarden's first. Louder than Love was their breakthru album, and highly recommended.

WNO - really like On Through the Night by Def Leppard.

I know most on here are to young to know about Lynyrd Skynyrd but have to of heard of "Free Bird"

What a kick ass song for a Debut Album add in "Simple Man and "Tuesdays Gone" from a bunch of kids at the time none of which were derived from a former band i.e. BadCo and you have the best damn debut album of we'll say the baby boomer generation!

Us baby boomer's grew up with the legends of rock.

Where have all the guitar hero's gone?

The Clash- The Clash

Worthy choice.

Their debut album was actually only available as an import in the U.S. It was a U.K. only release.

Their U.S. debut realease was "Give em' Enough Rope", which would also qualify as best debut album. The U.S. release of the "The Clash" was their 2nd album (in the U.S.) and had a few different numbers on it, including, "Complete Control", "White Man in Hammersmith Palais", "Jail Guitar Doors", and "Clash City Rockers", while some where dropped from the "real" debut album.

Two of my favorites from the origanal were kept for the U.S. release

I'm So Bored with the U.S.A. ("Suck on, Kojak")

Another worthy candidate is Queen's self titled debut album. This number from it is one the best things they ever did. The sound on the clip is from the album (although it looks like they're playing live). You could also take the excerpt from 3:21 to 3:40 and play it in concurrence with almost any right wing talking point.

Louder Than Love is the second studio album by the American alternative rock band Soundgarden, released on September 5, 1989 through A&M Records. After touring in support of its first full-length studio album, Ultramega OK, released in 1988, the band signed with A&M and began work on its first album for a major label. The songs on the album featured a heavy rock sound with some songs featuring unusual or unorthodox time signatures.
