I'll get the C-19 vaccine & be free to travel where i want to, assuming they are open again to tourists. Maybe to various Asian next year, in business class (= social distancing) & with a mask on for the flights involved, with other safety protocols (tested for antibodies, hand washing, etc).

I'll consider myself free to travel within my own personal regulations when i have been vaccinated and or a large enough % of my chosen destinations have also been vaccinated and or sufficiently contained infections.

Yes, it's quite cheap in Thailand relative to first world countries. Likewise in Vietnam, Cambodia, PI & some other countries in the region. I stayed in a hotel in Hanoi & paid about 20% of what i do now for my apartment.

For sure. I also heard great things about Colombia particularly Medellin.

Bali is a pretty popular place for expats working online. Hear the beaches are great

fightgood, What do you mean...help me out? Bali being good for folks that just need internet connection to fulfill a job/salary position?

I actually have a niece that lives in Bali and she LOVES it. Where she is though the infrastructure seems pretty dang basic. I've not asked her about internet connectivity but she communicates by email....so there is some connectivity. At the same time I communicated by email in 1993 and it wasn't such a good connectivity.

Is it your understanding that I could work and live in Bali if my work is online? (in short)

As far as Medellin, Colombia is concerned it was plagued with horrible crime in the 1980s and 1990s but they have gone all out to clean things up. The weather is like sprintime year-round and people who visit/move there love it.


As for Bali, it has become a popular destination for youtubers, and people who do online consulting work. Therefore, I'm sure they have excellent high speed connectivity in certain places. My guess is -its the towns that have upscale apartment buildings and fine dining that service tourists with luxury tastes.

Maybe your niece is more inland but I think the places expats go are beach cities in the south. From what I understand you could have a super luxury lifestyle very inexpensively. Probably better than Thailand.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos on travel and relocation so thats what I'm basing this on. Anything specific your niece likes about Bali?

Hoops to jump through? Yes, health insurance & covid testing required, for example.

Also 2 week quarantine, which is the deal destroyer for most people, it seems.
