I flipped some CHFI from .38 to .52 and picked up some
CHIO at .84
CNOA at .745
CSOL at .33
CCGY at .50
over the last 2 weeks or so with the same intention.
I'm hoping to get some CYXN at .45 tomorrow.
I have core investments in each of those (only $250-700 in each for fun and learning) that are down 10-35% but hopefully I can make a buck on some flips while I sit on the core shares for 6-24 months. I made the mistake on CPQQ of selling my flip shares AND my core position back at 1.66 - a bit of a premature ejection that cost me a couple hundred dollars. If I'm taking the risk I should prob sit around for the reward part
Same with my sell order on BSPM that triggered at 2.95 just ten minutes before it went to $3.45 LOL
Are you guys setting GTC sell limit orders? Or trailing orders? Or what?
Like today, I think a trailing order would have made me more on CHFI and same with BSPM a few days ago but I fear in some cases the MM will strip you of your shares in a worse position. Maybe that's just a noob misconception I have? Please share some advice on this if you guys have any. I guess I have been thinking limit because of the volatility of these stocks.
GOOO China!:toast:
Absolutely, you should always keep core shares in the these stocks unless I advise to sell. There will be one in my next post shortly.
As for your investments, you have a good mix. However, BSPM, TSTC, and YUII are my biggest holdings and those are the ones I like most of the near-term. CHIO is in my top-10 and I think it will do great, but I like the others a lot more. Percentage wise, they're all fairly equal.
As for CPQQ, total bummer man ... you missed out on a huge run. I will look to re-enter around $2.30 if possible, otherwise there are other plays out there that interest me more. Same with BSPM, although now it's pulled back to where you sold and the market is giving you another chance. BSPM will be $5 by March/April IMO, I wouldnt be selling a lot at these levels ... although, I flipped all my trading shares at $3.40 and re-bought yesterday and today between $2.90 and $3.06.
I dont think you can use stop-losses on the OTCBB stocks, but the big names (YONG, YUII, TSTC, and CHIO) you can.
As for selling, I'm an active trader/investor. I'm in front of my computer (two monitors makes it easier) monitoring the i-hub forum and my basic trading platform. On my 2nd monitor, I have charts and Level 2 information, and I make quick moves based off what I see. I set volume alerts in everything I watch, and if there is unusually high volume, I typically immediately buy more or sell a lot because something is going on, lol.
Always use limit orders. I rarely set orders in advance, it's usually a decision based on the spot. Like JADA, I didnt plan on selling that until $1.50, but today's huge move was over-extended and I didnt think it would hold. I sold all at .88-.93 and will look to re-buy on a day the market is getting hammered and if it sells back down to .50ish.
Hope this helps a little. As for CYXN @ .45, see my next post.
