Im going to answer your question the same way Khabib answered it.....”I don’t understand how people talk talk about how I jump on cage, what about he talk about my religion, he talk about my country, he talk about my father, he come to broke bus, he almost killed a couple people. What about this? What about this shit? Why people talk about I jump over the cage?”

Very respectful man right there. His opponents and their team were not very respectful. So he had to teach them lesson.

This isn’t sucker punching a 70 year old man

Both guys are jerkoffs.

The only difference is that Kahbib should have banished when he made those Islamic comments (threats) towards McGregor.

Respectful? LOL yeah right

No they aren't...

Conor McGregor is simply put, bad for our sport, and for martial arts as a whole. It made me take a step back and think twice about sport I love, and one I've put my life into...The Cerrone's mom skit was good to see, and he did seem more sincere this time around, however, his demeanor and just overall character is controlling and simply not anything a martial arts life is about.

I would let/want my children to train under Khabib, I wouldn't want McGregor anywhere near my kids...

I've supported Khabib since I've known about him, Conor quite the opposite, never was a fan, and though he was a douche from the start. He proved me right. Some of his fans have jumped on board as well, others couldn't care less what he does, the worse, the better, all good, they pay for the PPVs to watch him, I don't. The guy doesn't deserve to have jack shit in life, honestly, and if things were done accordingly, he wouldn't...

I see your point.

But we all know much of it is all for show & selling ppv.

I know you follow the sport closely and like Khabib's game, but his comments I mentioned are unforgivable in my book.

What did he say?

You have to understand Khabib is a man of honor and religion and respect. Conor is the exact opposite. How can you put someone’s words to another fighter as a bigger insult to someone’s character than sucker punching a 70 year old man?

I like both those guys, I mean it is a fight, not a ballet rehearsal. Not sure why anyone would get triggered by the behavior of cage fighters. I'd rather guys understand the psychology of promoting fights and getting inside their opponents heads.

You want everyone to be a drone like GSP or pretend they can't speak English like Anderson Silva?

The most polarizing/anticipation filled moments in combat sports is when the fighters can sell to the audience that they really don't like one another. McGregor does this very well, Jones/DC did it well, Diaz bros did it well (why they sell fights even though neither has ever been on an elite level), Masvidal, etc

So selling fights involves assaulting people, including punching a 70 years old dude, and sexually assaulting women too...Got it!

Obviously just mean promotional antics/demeanor when saying I like how he promotes fights.

He's definitely made some bad mistakes in his personal life but he also came into massive fame and fortune overnight, not the first person to handle that badly. Won't be the last. Same for Jon Jones. I still enjoy watching them talk shit and certainly watching them fight.

I personally think Khabib is hilarious and to me one of the most entertaining fighters of all time in any combat sport. He’s the Muslim Floyd. His style isn’t exciting. But everything else about him is imo.

I'm jumping in late, but I love Khabib. He grew up in Dagestan - almost all young men start wrestling, sambo, judo, etc prior to age 10 in that part of the world, and it's why, for an area with just 2.9 million people, they have a huge percentage of olympic medalists and combat sport athletes at the highest levels. And because of that, it's an area where disrespect isn't tolerated. If a young man talks a whole bunch of shit, he has to answer for it at the next wrestling/sambo practice. It's majority devout muslim - the men fight, study and pray. Khabib lives with his wife and kids at his parent's house. Why? Because it's customary for the youngest son to live at home to help take care of the parents into their elder stage. There's very little crime there despite there being a very low police presence. Why? Because if you're a thief, you get dealt with on the street worse than in a courtroom. It's a different culture - Americans could learn a lot from it, if you ask me.

I’m not a fan of McGregor either. Loud, drug user, adulterer and on and on. He’s good for the UFC’s bottom line but those of us that watch this stuff religiously think he’s a douchebag.

Real Muslims are probably the best people we have in society. Its a very disciplined and respected way of living. The fake Muslims that most people here consider Muslims are the ones who abuse it and give it a bad rep. I respect Khabib big time. The guy is one of the few role models left in sports. Next to Larry Fitzgerald or some shit

Definitely - there are a billion Muslims on the planet. The people that think they're all waging jihad usually know exactly 0 Muslims personally. Exactly like you said, it's just a culture of discipline. Motivation is cheap - discipline is so much more important. In the USA, our young people have a lot of motivation - big dreams, big goals, big lofty aspirations - but usually not a lot of discipline. Dudes come into the gym all the time - "I really want to fight, I really want to be a world champion". I tell them don't miss a day for 8 months and you'll be ready for an amateur fight. They look at me like I'm crazy but the select few that can keep that kind of discipline are the only ones that have a chance at going pro. The traditions of fasting and praying multiple times a day in that part of the world requires that same type of discipline and control.
