Nah. It is what it is. People hear the name "Cincinnati Bengals" and assume it's a fluke.

It's not.

How do you see the game playing out?
I don’t think the Bengals are a fluke. Good team. And awesome QB.

I just think this is a bad matchup for them. Burrow is gonna get absolutely smothered all game. Rams won’t have to blitz. He won’t have a prayer.

He might, he might not. I think Bengals will try to run the ball a bit early/set up some screens for Mixon and Perine.

Offensive line is bad, but not THAT bad. A little below average at worst. I think people are stuck on that Titans games.

Line looked pretty good against the Chiefs

Surely the Bengals have faced much stiffer competition in these playoffs than the inconsistent Rams from the weaker conference.

JoeyB, who may be the best pure passer in the game right now, is a gamer as much as Stafford is a notorious choker.

Why aren't the Bengals gettin' any love?

LA is the better team overall but Bengals have the momentum.

If the Bengals can contain Cooper Cupp they probably win. If Cupp gets big YAC (yards after catch) they will be tough to beat.

Also this is happening more in subs, but why are people knocking the fact that the Bengals played in the AFC North? It was the third best division in football this season, behind the NFC West and AFC West

Whitworth can be had. He’s not what he once was , though he’s still obviously good given his age. Bengals have the best edge rusher in this game in Hendrickson, despite Donald obviously being the best overall defensive linrman

Bengals will need their TE’s to step up in blocking. I want the Rams to rush more though because the screen pass is a big part of Bengals offense, with Mixon and Perine

The way I see it: I don’t think either offensive line is well equipped to pass-protect in this particular match up, though I think Rams have edge in run blocking
I like Burrow a lot. He has that x-factor and Chase is a big time receiver. But the Rams are loaded with Ramsey and other superstars on defense. Much like KC last year, it's tough to win a Super Bowl when you have a brutal OL vs. a pressure defense.

QB stats vs. Rams in playoffs.

Murray 19/34, 137 yds, 2 int.
Brady 30/54, 329 yds, 1 int, 1 TD.
Garappolo 16/30, 232 yds, 1 int, 2 TD

I hear ya. That is the one thing that worries me. But Cincy’s o line hasn’t been awful all year. They really are a middle of the pack unit

Titans game was rough but Chiefs game was pretty solid.

It’ll be interesting if Bengals more deliberately look for screens/if Rams prepare much for that. I lean yes to both of those questions.

Bengals should have someone open much of this game; question is will Burrow be quick enough to find him

Even though I am on the Bengals, I can see where the Rams may win the game, but I do think that is solely dependent on Stafford playing very well. If the 49'er defensive back catches the ball, most of the Ram's fans would be wishing for the good old days of Goff at QB.
What I don't understand from the comments above is the apparent coronation of the Rams as a great team...they are not. Even with all of those defensive "stars," they have the 17th rated defense (YPG) which is below half...Cinn is 18th. They gain 11 more yards per game on offense and both teams score 27 points per game.
The stats are about as even as you can get. With that, intangibles come into play and those point to the Bengals with a QB with a history of winning (including LSU), a team that beat the #1 and #2 seeds and the gift of four points in a game that will most likely be decided by three.

Great post

Its a weird year with every team being flawed, with Rams and Bengals included. The numbers don’t point to the Rams being world beaters like people seem to believe

Also kind of weird how the Raiders guy said the Bengals didn’t sack the Mahomes all day, yet they actually sacked him four times in the 4th quarter alone.

My bad on the Mahomes sacks................. Von Miller only played 1/2 the season and the Rams division is tough. Rams played Ari and SF twice. Big time mismatch in talent.

Look at PFF player grades for the year.

Rams OT ranked #4 and #6 overall.
Ramsey #1 CB
Donald #1 DT
Von Miller #4 edge defender

Hendrickson #26 edge defender for Cincy.

You did see burrow get sakes 9 times, right? The mine is terrible.

if somehow they get an OL by Sunday they can pull it off. Gonna be a tough game.

Hope we have a choke from Stamford.

ALL 3 of my PR's have the Rams winning by 2-5 points so no surprise the line is not moving now.

Burrow is the edge you cant count him out he is a gamer and the team will go to the mat for him. This is why every time the RAMS edge up to 4.5 it quickly gets slapped down. Couple that with McVays cautious approach when he has when in the lead might leave the back door open. Having said the Rams should be able to control this game well into the 4th Q they have the edge on both lines.

Lastly how did the Bengals get here? Turnovers - They were -2 in week 17 now they are +5 over a 4 game span they have had the Edge in TO's by 7 .

Maybe they get a lucky TO that swings the game Momentum but that is too much variance to TO's to make them predictable. Both QB's are -150 to thrown an INT.

Oh one other thing Ron Torbert the HEAD Ref and I know he gets a new team off officials to work with but his crews have the home team -20* in teh hole all time he is pretty even on totals but his games average Under 40 PPG.

Good luck guys you like side look for the props that support your side.

Rams starting to reach Packers/Bills level of overrated
Bills, Packers, Rams, KC were the 4 best teams in the NFL this year. One game changes everything. If it were 4 out of 7, the Rams are the easy play. For one game, either can win.
