Probably the extent of his standing highlight package.

Would love to see him on top of Khabib. No homo.

lol. NOT. Woodley doesn't even use his wrestling much. He would probably win though. KO by overhand is my guess. Would be interesting to see Khabibs wrestling against Woodleys takedown defense

I posted this like 8 hours before in the MMA forum. 44 views no replies. Might as well blow that forum up. It is dead

Agree. Would probably win similar to how he neutralized Maia, except with Khabib he could knock him out given how easy Khabib is to hit. Woodley can't get a fight with a big name to save his life though. Dude been trying for like 2 years now. GSP, McGregor, Khabib, Bisping when he was champ, both Diaz bros. He must wanna cash out so bad. That's gotta be frustrating as hell.

I would've replied in the sub but don't really check MMA forum unless it is day of a PPV, some sub-forums obviously completely dead now given lack of overall traffic.

A little back and forth with Askren and Masvidal on Twitter.

Holy fuck! Would fucking pay to see Askren crucifix Masvidal.

Masvidal I think is required to fight over the next few months and doesn't have an opponent yet..... not sure if Masvidal is too low ranked for Askren or they'd start Askren off with this warm-up.

If he fights Askren, that'd probably be 3 losses in a row for him... and a ticket to Bellator or One in the future.

Is he officially on the roster?

I just see a shit ton of tweets and he is trolling everybody.

Please let it be Masvidal.

I think they're signing him to fight GSP. GSP wants to fight, but only the "right" opponent. GSP would fight Conor, but I don't think Conor wants that fight (especially now) because it would be more of the same from the last fight. GSP was trying to lose weight to get down to 155, but I really don't think the UFC wants him to fight Khabib, because there is the risk of him winning and leaving the division/semi-retiring again like he did in his last fight.

I think they give Askren a winnable fight first to build up his hype a bit on a big card and then he fights Georges early to mid next year. I also think they try Khabib-Tony F again. And I imagine Conor either fights Nate 3 or just waits for a different opportunity to develop.

BTW, Askren and Woodley wrestled together at Mizzou and they have sparred together a lot at Roufus, and from what I understand, Askren always beats him - like a big bro/little bro relationship. Now, that's just sparring, but I also heard the same things about TJ and Cody - TJ has always been the "big bro"/mentor in the gym. It's hard to overcome that psychological edge.

I do not want to see Askren/GSP. Only GSP fight would want to see is GSP/Khabib or GSP against a top 170 guy.

I've seen interviews where Akren talks about him fighting Wood and he said he would beat him every time... unless Woodley catches him. Otherwise, once on the ground, Wood is done. His words.

Masvidal looks like the perfect starter fight given that, I think, he's obligated to fight within the next 8 or 9 weeks.

Plays with him like a toy.

Same as all the other Askren fights.

What would the odds on Khabib fight be? -150 for Askren?

Askren never fought anyone Khabib would be the favorite. Askren wants it at 165. Hell no.

Akren too big for 155. Head alone weighs 30 lbs. Hair weighs 5 lbs.

Khabib is fighting fighters. He professionally lays on people and destroys them who can't deal with his ground game. He won't be able to do that vs. Askren. And I would imagine Askren will have him wrapped up like a pretzel and fully locked up.... and just land uncontested blows.

Man, I hope they make this fight.

Forgot to add: Ego weighs another 30 lbs on top of the head and hair.

But it's justified.

Askren vs Woodley and Ferguson Khabib more interesting. If they both win and are champs let Khabib move up and fight him both undefeated. Let Khabib retire if he wins as the GOAT. I'd like to see Askren smoke GSP. I'm sick of his act. If he is coming back that is. Too scared to fight anyone good at his weight or bigger

I agree on GSP. Something just rubs me the wrong way about him. And thought that Bisping fight was a cop out. Would've loved to see Romero smash him for some real competition at 185.

Don't want to see Wood/Askren.

Wondering if there is any legitimacy to the idea of bringing in Askren to smash Khabib.

Also wondering how long it will take before get notification of a first Askren fight. Not even sure if it was 100% official yet.
