Supposedly trade Mighty Mouse to ONE for Askren to the UFC. One would think to setup a potential showdown with Khabib...

Why would UFC want Askren to fight Khabib?

Askren is fairly old and not really marketable at all. And him and Woodley are tight so I'm guessing they won't fight.

Surprising move.

I thought I saw a video with him where he said it'd have to be at 165. And Askren said (paraphrase) he'd beat Khabib no doubt. Literally no doubt in his mind.

Not like McG talk when he said he'd maul Khabib, but knew he was up against a real problem. Askren truly believes he's beat Khabib without a doubt.

If Woodley loses, he may never fight again in the UFC.... ha ha. They'll ship his ass out, lol.

I wonder... does this move Khabib out of 155 and to 165 and protect McG from Khabib. In boxing they always protect their cash cow.

This could buy McG time to stabilize before he loses to Khabib again in a rematch.

Asken is 34, about prime for a fighter. Why wouldn’t they? Two undefeated fighters, not many of those around ya know, and the two best grapplers who both say they can beat each other. Askren has wanted to fight in the ufc for awhile. I couldn’t careless if he does, but to say they wouldn’t want him to fight Khabib is rather comical to me...

He’s a blanket fighter that’s really not exciting to watch, so don’t go there with the marketable BS. You know these McGregor nut huggers wanna see Khabib get beat, and he may bring the best viable chance, and I’m sure Dana wouldn’t mind seeing someone anihilate Askren either. Insert me a name that will/could here...

But, Askren fights WW, and he really wants Colby. You know, people wanna see him get shut up too...

He isn't marketable. Don't see Ben Askren doing PPV #'s at all. It's debatable if Khabib is marketable (I'd say no, but incidents like hopping the cage certainly give him some cache going forward) but feeding him to Askren and him losing would certainly be bad for business. I don't see Khabib wanting to do fights like Ferguson/Askren though. Think he'll wanna keep fighting big names like GSP, McGregor and trying to make $. Dude pobably made more a few weeks ago than he had in every other fight he was in combined.

Askren 34, by the time he fights he'll be 35. I'd say that is definitely on the older side for the lower weight classes.

What if he wins then? Him and Woodley won't fight, right?

Just doesn't seem like a lot for him to do....GSP won't fight him either.

I said Askren isn’t marketable. Duh. Only thing marketable about him is the undefeated record, and the thought of why he isn’t in the ufc like 5 years ago already...

34 may not be young, but it isn’t washed up, I mean your WW champ is 36, Wonderboy is 35, RDA is 33, and Lawler is 36. I mean even the guy Asken is calling out, Colby, is 30. All of the Top 5 besides overrated Till is in their 30s and looking to bang. Wonderboy and Lawler probably get it on early 2019. Can’t wait to see that battle of old folks...

I don't see UFC wanting to see Khabib get beat by a guy they can't really do a ton with.

Khabib is actually a big name now. I'm sure Dana would like to feed Khabib to GSP or even fight McGregor again but not some unknown who crushed subpar competition in lower promotions.

I don't see McGregor fans/casual fans wanting to pay to see some guy wrestlefuck Khabib either.

I don’t see it either. Couldn’t careless to see Askren fight in the UFC, honestly. Seems to be more so they can throw this “trade” word around instead of fighters leaving for Bellator etc for better reasons. DJ is almost irrelevant, Old right, and probably wouldn’t win a rematch anyways, or have anything left if he did, also in a weight class many care nothing about really. I actually really like the 125 lb weight class, always have, but then again, I like WMMA as well.

As stated, just seems more to do with opening up doors with that trade word more than anything...

I would make both Woodley and Cov favs over Khabib if the fight happened sooner than later. Haven't seen enough of Askren to say about him. Tough guy to gauge since he really hasn't fought anyone.

Cov/Khabib could probably sell if marketed correctly. Covington isn't exactly witty, but atleast he a loudmouth.

lol. NOT. Woodley doesn't even use his wrestling much. He would probably win though. KO by overhand is my guess. Would be interesting to see Khabibs wrestling against Woodleys takedown defense

I posted this like 8 hours before in the MMA forum. 44 views no replies. Might as well blow that forum up. It is dead

Love reading these youtube comments since Khabib won.

Muslim fans popping up at least once a video and say shit like "going to cut his head off" and then end their comment with "peace".

Ha ha ha. Fucking funniest shit ever. And no doubt they fucking mean it, which makes it even funnier!
