Texas offense is wayyyy too predictable. 5-8 yards square ins is like 80% of their offense. They better get a MUCH better running game if they expect to compete with a team like UF.
This will be my biggest question with Texas too. Their predictablility almost cost them in their Fiesta Bowl game with a very good, but not great Ohio State team. They'll need to show much more imagination against OU or Florida if they get that far. They beat OU with the 4 receiver one back set last year. But the Sooners defense will be prepared for it this year. Greg Davis will need to show some imagination and try something different if he hopes to beat either of these two teams, who's strength this year will be their defenses. I'm hearing that they might go to a more power running set with two backs, using a RB by commitee offense. This would take some pressure off of McCoy if successful. If McCoy is once again their leading rusher on this team, I don't believe Texas will be able to beat OU or Florida. And maybe not OSU either. It's all on Greg Davis's shoulders. And what kinds of new slants on the spread offense that he can devise.

GS... I'll add to that. Before Ryan Reynolds went out against Texas last year, the Horns had a tough time moving the ball. Once Reynolds was out OU brought in Brandon Crow which was a total disaster as you remember.

Greg Davis has no imagination. It's going to be very hard for him to come up with new ideas when he has none to begin with. Guess what Greg, Vince Young isn't coming back...

To be fair, I really don't know how well OU is going to be able to run the ball either. With the exception of Trent Williams, everybody on the OU line is unproved at run blocking. So even though we have Demarco Murray, he's going to need somebody to open the holes up for him or else we'll be in the same boat as Texas. We should know very early with OU how well their rushing game is going to work. With Texas, fortunatley they play Texas Tech early in the season. And although Tech isn't the team they were last season, they're still the only only opponent with a pulse they play until they play OU. If I see the Horns not being able to rush the ball and McCoy having to do his scrambling routine again, then I think they could be in trouble against the Big Boys.

Felons? As in Felony State, that little school out west? Arrest records go way beyond the last year or so and Felony State tops everyone.

But please, make another post about how the Gators are falling apart... that worked out real well for you last year.

Did you ever think UF would come into Doak and bend them over the table and bitch slap them repeatedly? Lol, I did.
Since 2005, Florida has had 24 Gator arrests. This means that there have been 24 different times a Gator player has faced a charge in a court of law.

Florida has a nice team and a great coach but I just feel like the odds are against them, could be wrong.

I think LSU will be lucky to finish 2nd or 3rd in the West this year. I just dont think they have the goods on Defense. Lots of names, little production, though I fully expect it to be better than last year. Not much depth on the DL either. Alem and Alexander are very good, but beyond that what is there? Jefferson is living off the Peach Bowl. We'll see if he can keep it up. Also, not sold on the OL especially if Glass Joe, errr TBob Hebert is starting next to Hitt who has had injury trouble his entire career. They are rock solid at RB/WR/TE though. LSU has to watch out for Arky this year. Right now, I think they can lose that game.

I'm going away from the crowd a bit with this one; I think any of the top teams in the SEC could go, Texas or Okie from the BIG 12, USC, and a select few others. but I'm going with ...

I know it is not a popular pick but they have a lot of potential and the SEC will have some upsets. They have a LOT of talent and some of their younger guys are potentially dominant players. Stranger things have happened.

The problem with LSU's defense last year was they had a couple idiots for co-defensive coordinators. I guarantee you John Chavis coming in from Tennessee will right the ship. LSU has the players on defense. But when they're out of position on every play it doesn't matter who they are. I see a much improved unit this year. And I believe the part of the defense that is considered the weakest, the D-Line will be much better than expected. DE Alem is a good one. And they have VHT upperclassmen starting the rest of the positions. And a few easy games at the start of the season to break them in. I look for 9 to 10 wins out of LSU this year.

Penn State Vs OU in the title game.

Penn St has zero chance with the schedule they play. They play 1 good team and they play them at home...

If Penn St goes 12-0....they would need the following...Every SEC team would need to have at least 2 losses....and assuming they'd play a Big 12 team in the title game....that would mean USC would need 2 losses as well...

But if USC, Oklahoma, Texas, FLorida, LSU, ect all have 1 loss...they would all go ahead of Penn St.

How or why would USC need 2 losses in order for a Big 12 team to make it, considering TX/OU are going to be 2/3 in the polls?

Also, if USC loses to OSU and if the SEC has no unbeaten team, PSU in.

As a Florida guy, a PERFECT way for Tim Tebow to cap off a GREAT career is to win the BCS Championship. I just want Florida to get there and let the chips fall as they may. :103631605:toast: LT

I can see how what I said can be confusing....let me clarify...assuming the SEC beats each other up all season and everyone has 2 losses (not likely) and a Big 12 team has already assured themselves a berth in the Nat'l title game (1-loss Tx or Okla), it is in my opinion that a 1-loss USC team would go over an undefeated Penn St team to the title game (provided the 1-loss isn't to Ohio St).....thus USC would need to lose twice in order for Penn St to go...

With the current "state of the Big 10" and the perception of the conference nationally, with Penn St's ridiculous schedule this year, Penn St would have to go undefeated and blow everybody out in order to go to the the Nat'l title game....their schedule is THAT bad...
