actually i think a pitcher has pitched a "perfect game" and lost....they went the full 9 innings, the score stayed tied 0-0, then when he was relieved they lost the game in extras...believe i read that somewhere in a useless trivia book when i was a kid....don't quote me on it but i do think it has happened, probably turn of the century
