what the f***...i knew Bale was an introvert, and apparently moody as hell, but a domestic dispute? sounds a little fishy to me.....

<STRIKE>Christian Bale</STRIKE> Batman must face questioning in London today after reports surfaced last night that he assaulted his mother and sister before the UK premiere of The Dark Knight.

When not saving Gotham from crime, Batman, also known as Christian Bale, allegedly spends his time beating his mother and sister.

According to Britain’s Press Association, the 34-year-old actor’s mother and sister reported that Bale assaulted them on the night of the European premiere of The Dark Knight. Instead of questioning him that very night, her Majesty’s finest elected to wait until Tuesday because “they did not want to interfere with the premiere.”

Classy.

Apparently, crime takes a backburner at Scotland Yard when Hollywood rolls into town. One can only imagine the leeway England’s own James Bond, Daniel Craig, has with the law.

Lesson learned: Beating women is OK, if you put a notorious, deranged criminal behind bars – or, at least star in a film where you do.

Late Morning Update: The Sun reports Bale has been arrested. Bale's mother and sister can undoubtedly thank OTR for motivating the police force.

for better or for worse, we have had MAJOR movie actors/actresses do stupid things before, just as bad as this is/could be, and they have been forgiven after a few months or a slew of solid reviews....if this isn't something like "Bale bashes family with batman bat" then it probably won't hurt him in the long run...

Almost to $200 million! Thanks to a super-strong Monday for The Dark Knight, which raked in another $24.6 million domestically, the Batman sequel came within $18 million of the $200 million mark in only four days.

Dark Knight Closes on $200 Million

With those types of numbers we are expecting The Dark Knight to cross the $200 million mark today. If the film can do $24.6 million yesterday, then it should come close to $18 million today.

With tickets still selling during the week, The Dark Knight should easily destroy the current record-holder for best opening week. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest holds the title with $196 million in its first seven days. At this rate TDK will earn north of $230 million by the end of the week, making that at least four records taken down by the film.

After the film's strong rollout, studio distribution chiefs have adjusted their expectations of the film and now predict the tentpole to gross north of $400 million domestically.

'Dark Knight' continues to break records

Following its historic weekend, the latest Batman movie has set new standards for mid-week box-office grosses, with a $203.8 mil five-day total

The Dark Knight continues to smash records at the box office. A mere five days into its domestic theatrical run, the second Batman movie from star Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan has earned a whopping $203.8 mil. That utterly obliterates the old record for the fastest movie to reach the $200 mil mark, set by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which took eight days to achieve the feat. It's worth noting that the Pirates sequel went on to earn $423.3 mil domestically — a sum that now appears to be in reach for The Dark Knight in the long run.
Following a record-breaking opening weekend, during which it grossed a staggering $158.4 mil, the comic-book flick banked $24.5 mil on Monday (the best non-holiday Monday gross ever) and $20.9 mil on Tuesday (the best non-holiday Tuesday take of all time). The total earnings for The Dark Knight's first four days of release ($182.9 mil) and first five days out ($203.8 mil) are also new historical highs. What's more, in less than a week, the film has earned almost as much as its predecessor, 2005's Batman Begins, grossed during its entire run ($205.3 mil), and this film has already brought in more money than four of the previous six live-action Batman movies made in theaters. At press time, The Dark Knight ranks No. 84 on the all-time domestic box office roster (a notch behind Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which was the highest-grossing movie of 1991). To track its fast ascension up the list, check back with EW.com on Friday for our weekly Box Office Preview.

movie is way over-hyped. I liked the Harvey Dent storyline better than the Joker's actually.

Really liked this movie. I'm not much of a fan of this type movie, but this one was different. Much more believable than previous batman movies.
