I thought I would share this is all.

I figured if it saved one person from some headaches than great. Even if it reminds one guy to tell his wife or kid to watch out for this stuff and it helps than it was worth it.

Get these all the time from banks, p-a-y-p-a-l, Ebay. NEVER clink on a link in the E mail. If you actually have an account at the place in question, and are worried it may be legit, go to the website itself, not following any Link in the Email.

I got an email last night saying "There are a number of invalid login attempts on your account. We had to believe that, there might be some security problems on your account. So we have decided to put an extra verification process to ensure your identity and your account security."

Stop-SS--

The email is fake because the address is "bnkamerica" or something.

I can not stand BOA

How do you know what the address is?

BTW, it was spelled correctly

Mike,

BOA's exchange handle is "@bankofamerica.com" So it would be "alert" or "abuse" @bankofamerica.com

The email I received didn't have that handle. The address was in the email ("from") line.

I just logged on to my BOA account. It was not locked.

I went to the security center and they have up:

If you think you're a victim of fraud: Call 1.800.933.6262.
Suspicious emails that use Bank of America's name: Forward to abuse@bankofamerica.com

I sent the email to that addy...
