I am a baby boomer and back in the day I demonstrated the Vietnam war sort of I was in middle school father was stationed at the Pentagon and me and my friends ventured in D. C. just because. I lived through the Martin Luther King assassination and all the riots that followed. It sucked because all the Senators games were cancelled and they played all their games in opposing teams park. But the movement worked imo the war ended civil rights were a main topic and the Senators moved to Texas lol. So when the George Floyd demonstrations were going on it was reminiscent to the war demonstrations to me and talking to co workers I said I am proud of these kids coming out in numbers around the world that they trying to shape their futures just as we did back in the 60’s.
Now back in the day was always low voter turn out especially the midterms I never voted till I was working in the grocery store and a union rep registered me in the break room and she said vote Democrat lol I ended up voting for Reagen. But I moved numerous times and it never even crossed my mind to register. At age 32 I got married and I guess they found me and mailed me a voter registration and I’ve been voting ever since. So what am I getting at,these millennials are coming out in droves to vote and the more obnoxious and divisive these political hacks are the more you are driving the millennials To the polls and for one I am damn proud of them it’s not all peace and love anymore
