he loses AGAIN as his so called "hottest team in the country" opens as a 4 point dog and gets blown out!
here are his saturday plays. is he chasing and trying to get some back with his 30 dimer? play at your own risk!
30-Dime Utah State - The Aggies are off to their best start in school history, they own an overall record of 23-1, and are currently tied with No. 2 Oklahoma for the most wins and best record in the nation. And while I know Taco Bell Arena is one of the toughest places to play ? in America ? the Broncos don?t have the kind of talent to penetrate Stew Morrill?s staunch defense that has become trademark during his tenure. Most people might not realize this, but Utah State is the only team in the nation to win at least 23 games in each of the last 10 years, and that?s because of Morrill?s tutelage.
As a team, Utah State leads the Western Athletic Conference in eight categories, including: scoring defense (59.9 points per game), scoring margin (+12.9 ppg), free throw percentage (.736), field goal percentage (.506), field goal percentage defense (.411), rebounding defense (27.4 rebounds per game), rebounding margin (+6.8 rpg), and assist/turnover ratio (1.45). And believe me, this kid Gary Wilkinson is something to watch, a vision to be amazed by, as his numbers are off the charts, while teammate Tai Wesley is dominating on defense for the Aggies.
Utah State has already knocked off Boise once this season, a 79-65 win in Logan, Utah. After the Broncos led 24-22 in the first half, USU went on a 21-9 run to close the half to lead 43-33 at intermission. To get ready for this game, the Broncos have split their last four games, against: Idaho, Houston Baptist, San Jose State and Fresno State. And with a dismal 2-7 ATS mark in their last nine against winning teams, I?ll have to side with the road team here.
5-Dime Memphis - And so now it comes down to seeding, and I don?t mean for springtime crops. We?re talking March Madness, and everyone knows coach John Calipari has always been a fanatic about seeding. Of the five teams he's coached that reached the Elite Eight or better, all five were either No. 1 or No. 2 seeds. Calipari?s Tigers have a maximum of 10 games left before the Big Dance, starting today in Hattiesburg, and they certainly have the percentages and RPI in their favor to get a Top 2 seed. It?s easy to see Connecticut, North Carolina and Oklahoma as No. 1 seeds ? at this point ? but if Memphis can run the table impressively, the winning streak could grow to 25 games and that would include impressive wins at Tennessee and Gonzaga. Who knows, can anyone say No. 1 seed? The end of the season begins today, and Calipari will have his troops ready to bury the Golden Eagles.
5-Dime Central Florida - Central Florida is an impressive 12-2 SU and 7-1 at home, and despite losing three straight heading into this one, including a home game to Houston, I like our chances with the Knights today. Hey, I know Tulsa is probably the second-best team in the league, it probably has the best post player in the league, it?s got one of the best guards in Ben Uzoh in the league and it?s one of the best defensive teams in the league, but I have two teams for you: Notre Dame and West Virginia. Those two, the last two nights, knocked off arguably the two hottest teams in the Big East, maybe the nation. And since the Golden Hurricane are coming off an embarrassing 63-37 loss at eighth-ranked Memphis, I believe we?re catching them at the right time. And this is a tired Tulsa team as well. It hosted UTEP last Saturday, played at Memphis on Wednesday and went back to Tulsa briefly before coming to Orlando. Look for Jermaine Taylor to light things up, and for the Knights to roll.
5-Dime Iowa State - Why not take the double digits against a Cowboys team that is mired in ATS slumps of 2-5 when laying points in this range, 1-4 against teams that lose on the road and 0-5 versus the Big 12? And I know that Iowa State has lost 14 consecutive games in Gallagher-Iba Arena and I even went as far to find out only six current Cyclone players were born the last time Iowa State won inside Okie State?s domain. But here?s the thing, this is the right spot for the ?Clones to catch the Pokes, who have lost four of their last five games. And the victory might not have been, as it was a close on against Texas Tech. The Cowboys are a modest 2-2 when hosting Big 12 foes and roll into this one after getting shellacked, 99-74, at Texas this past Tuesday. On the other hand, we have a Cyclones team that will come in inspired after a 70-42 dismantling of Colorado on Wednesday. Take a shot with the double-digit pup here.
