Here's a bet I would make - Post #104 is an of example of one of the things that makes this poster a winning handicapper.
It's posted as info but it's also, whether intentional or unintentional, excellent advice
It's the same thing I noted in one of Boutmy$'s recent thread where he added a mention about one part of his play that was not as strong as others - track your own play and use the data just like you would use data on a team's performance, in other words: handicap the handicapper, not just the game.
Say, hypothetically, Avocado was looking to add one more bet to his card.
And he was trying to choose between Phil vs NO or TB vs Sea.
In addition to any other data/stats/info he looks at he can add additional info - what his record is when playing those teams.
With an 8-2 record on both teams in TB vs Sea (16-4) as opposed to 3-6 on Phil vs NO (6-12) it's gives him another tool to help make the decision.
And the more info a bettor has - including knowing his own strengths and weaknesses, where he's doing well or not - the better chance he has of beating the books.
Avocado - I could be wrong but I'm guessing that if you go into such detail as tracking your record vs individual teams you also know your record on Favs and Dogs, Over vs Unders, and more. And use that info accordingly.
And you mentioned "Regressing to the mean" - if more bettors understood that concept, added it as yet another handicapping tool, and stopped jumping on already established trends, they would improve their play.
