A league in diar need of fans shouldn't have suspended him because of this incident. I would have been glued to this game had Avery been allowed to play.

Great point. Although to get new people to tune into a hockey game they would need to know about the particulars to this drama. Problem number one is no large media outlet had the time or interest to report this relatively small story to a audience that is more inclined to watch football or basketball. I do agree with you that if allowing him to play brought even a handful of new fans to discover the other great things the game has to offer, (besides vindictive blood letting), then let's get ready to rumble.
