OF COURSE, in real life that is who she would pick.

The only issue is whether she is smart/savvy/devious enough to recognize the Joe Average is the optimal choice financially for her career.

UPDATED ODDS:

Average Joe 2 Hawaii: Who will Larissa choose?
Closing Date: Mar 01, 2004 19:00 GMT -5
NBC Reality TV Show
Option Win Odds
Joe Hunk -500
Joe Average +300

Is this a Joke...does Intertops know the outcome do you guys think...after all she got rid of the guy that everyone thought she was gonna take...& now there are only 2 left...with the average joe paying +300....

Simply doing the math this seems like a great bet in terms of PROBABILITES...is it not a 50/50 proposition?

or does INTERTOPS somehow know the outcome?

Only reason to pick average guy is to not look so obvious and for publicity. She will drop this guy quick. That is a lock.

crazy are you bluffing...this is real cash...from a mathematical standpoint in a propostion that is 50/50 I was thinking JOE is a wise bet...why would intertops lay such odds...Unless they knew something...

Last year Intertops offered Survivor betting & had eliminated two people from the beginning...THe guy who won wound up being the same guy that no one could bet on....THis means that they ran Survivor betting for several weeks without having to pay anyone.

The title of the prop was "who will win survivor withour X & X"?

Now all of a sudden 3-1 on JOE? doesnt make sense...perhaps youheard of a fake leak?

Note what I said on the 11th lol...they guy from Boston or the blonde guy...I think the Bostonian takes it...If this is sincere he deserves it...The Blonde guy even wondered outloud if he enough back home to keep her interested...The guy from Boston without question has connected with her on the inside the most....

I have watched this show all but one week and I am stunned he emerged as the top guy...good for him though!

I doubt this has leaked...

Gentleman, we have been duped by a Monte Hall follower!

As you know, in Let's Make a Deal Monte had a showdown with 3 curtains. He ALWAYS revealed a nonwinning curtain as his first choice to keep the suspense going in the show.

The Average Joe editors have just done this to us. There were 3 guys left, two hunks and a joe. They past posted us by showing us up front that 1 hunk was sent home. If she had sent the other hunk packing, the editors would have shown HIM hitting the doors. But no way we were going to see them show Boston Joe hit the exit.

Obviously, the ratings are higher with a Hunk vs. Joe final.

So just from a purely mathematical evaluation, it is not EVEN MONEY. It's hunks -200, Joe +200.

fezz, not sure I understand what you are saying...the final episode has 1 hunk vs 1 joe....how do you see that as hunks -200 & joes +200?

is it not 50/50...

The odds were updated by intertops after the last show...

WRONG! (And I have to wonder does anyone listen to me out there)

There were 3 guys left at the end of the show. They all got hometown dates.

If this was a chronological show, 3 guys would make the final.

But the TV execs know that a hunk vs. Joe finale will get the ratings. So

1) If Larissa went for Hunk 1 to win, they bounce Hunk 2 and Hunk 1 vs. Joe is the finale

2) If Larissa went for Hunk 2 to win, they bounce Hunk 1 and Hunk 2 vs. Joe is the finale.

3) If Larissa went for Joe, they would bounce either Hunk.

Bottom line, there was ZERO chance Joe was going to be eliminated from the three based on the way it was presented (it is the classic Monte Hall Let's MAke a deal situation where the best curtain is never revealed first.

Now, the really smart guys out there are laughing at my analysis, since I've missed a key point. IF LARISSA went with Joe, THERE WOULD BE NO REASON TO BOUNCE EITHER HUNK. A Joe vs. two hunk special, with joe winning would be the feel good story of the year. So the mere fact that they past posted us to bounce a hunk actually (in my opinion) makes Joe Hunk a strong, strong favorite to win.

THink about things. If you were editing the show, wouldn't you do exactly as I've decribed above? If you didn't, you wouldn't be very good at your job IMO

ahhh, I see what you are saying...this is not mathematical science however it is simply an opinion....

The producers must be pushing for Joe, especialyy after hunk won the first show, aditionally Larissa probably know's that she has more chance for prizes etc if she chooses Joe...With two contestents left I coudnt understand how Intertops had JOE + 300, but I guess they were thinking about it from the same angle as you...

FWIW, Joe is now +160 only

***although the more that I think about it, it does make sense what you are saying, after all the last episode they led us 'the viewers' to beleive she would choose that beach huy as she was all over him yet she bounced him...we also saw Joe almost muttering the words I love you for next week...Still from a purely mathematical standpoint I felt JOE @ +300 was a strong bet...

Think I have lost 150$ however
