I love these games, where there's a week of build-up with every Joe Nobody talking about how Team X is going to win by 28. They build it up in their heads that the team they're betting on is full of 6'8, 380-pound monsters who run 4.3 40s, while the other team is full of guys who can barely walk.
Then they turn on the game and get snapped back into the reality that the talent differential between teams like Auburn and teams like Kansas State is just not that big. And they just laid close to double digits on the road. They have to be asking, "Wait, Kansas State has an NFL WR and a good offensive line?!"
One of the best ways to handicap is to visit forums like this one, for big games on TV, and assess which team the average guy who can't write a sentence believes is going to cover by 20. It's not fade the public; it's fade the idiot.
