Jackson Not Artest was the real bad guy

I may be saying this because I have futures on the Pacers but Jermaine O'Neal should get the same as Ben Wallace probably about 5 games. Stephen Jackson should get 15 he was the real Bad guy here, he saw his chance to throw some punches at piston fans and took it. I learned very young, you don't poke a bull unless you want the horns. The guy who threw the bottle at Artest was an idiot for thinking he wouldn't get something in return. These are the guys if confronted on the street, act crazy and hope their friends 'restrain them' before the other guy beats them to the ground. Artest should get 10 games. A the detriot fans should be banned from NBA games.

Listen, I am not defending NBA players. Most of them are cowardly sacks of sh*t who are a lot more brave when beating on someone smaller them but those fans who threw something deserve a beating. Hell, it's just a few punches to the face. It's a good attitude adjuster. These fans are scum and always get away with this kind of crap.

I doubt any "innocent" people were hanging around near the fight. BTW, I heard that the kid who was crying was the son of one of the players. I don't like to see that but that's the f*cked up world we live in.....please don't blame Prez Bush for this....lol

I'll be honest I didn't read this thread.

Plain and simple

Artest, suspended for life. No ifs ands or butts.

Someone thowing a beer on you from far away is in no way an imminent physical threat that requires a player to go into the stands and assulat a fan.

No place in the NBA for a person like this.

Sprewell got a 68 game suspension for choking a coach in a closed practice.

the only problem noreaga is that he didnt punch a fan in the stands. The worst player in all of this was Jackson. Hell Artest was getting hit in the back of the head by the ****** who threw the cup and started it all and never even threw a punch at that guy.

Jermaine O'Neal and Jackson and possibly Artest will face some type of criminal charges IMO. The biggest thing about the NBA here is not who threw the punches (it's part of it) but the fact that the PLAYERS WENT INTO THE STANDS. It's been repeated an umpteen number of times by NBA people on TV today that players going into the stands will not be tolerated period end of story. So expect the players that went into the stands to get the stiffest penalty (and I would be shocked if these suspensions weren't as long as Spree's was because the NBA will want to make an example here so other players don't get the same idea).

Wallace will get suspended and fined but he will get suspended for his on court actions. He did not go into the stands after the fisticuffs ensued. I would almost guarantee the Pacer players who left the court will get a max suspension because they broke the NBA cardinal rule..going into the stands!

LOL, Artest will not get jail time...What did he do really? I admit the guy is off his rocker, and he should not have went into the stands....Wallace started the whole thing, Artest minding his own business , has objects thrown at him , what was he suppose to do?

I didn't see him assaulting anyone until he was violently provoked....

FTR- i think the guy is a POS, but in this case it was not his fault...

O'Neal and Jackson, that's another story... they were going out of their way to assault people..

JM Artest did attack the geeky guy he first went after (the WRONG guy) when he got into the stands. If anything that guy could press charges. He was attacked!

I dont think Oneal did anything til he smoked the guy who had went after Artest on the court. I think he was fine to do that, I dont think he should get over 8 games for that. Jackson seemed like the one who was a complete pyscho, but I did just pick something new up from the 58th time I've seen it. When Artest first went into the stands and pushed down the guy (who sort of fell down himself as he crouched down to avoid anything) another fan came over to Artest and threw a cup full of beer in his face from a foot away, then Jackson swung like a crazy man at him. If it wasnt Artest, the other person would be getting a lot less I think, because Artest never threw a punch til the one guy hit him in the back of the head like an idiot. My opinions

Oakland County Prosecuter said Detroit Police witnessed O'Neal cold cocking and assaulting someone in the hallway out of camera view and that O'Neal is the number one person that can expect formal charges if they decide to go ahead with the prosecution.

It isn't a question of whether or not he threw a punch in the stands. It's the fact that he went into the stands at all. If Artest doesn't jump into the stands all they have is a suspension for Wallace for his reaction to the foul and one idiot that security could handle. This incident escalated to fisticuffs AFTER Artest ran into the stands.

Detroit Police, the question is wtf were they doing. I would bet a lot that Oneal was provoked and could have been hit with a # of things before that by the person or it could have been one of the few guys who had landed punches on Fred Jones (who was the big black guy, that is my #1 question, he smoked Fred Jones from behind for no apparent reason, this guy was behind the scorer's bench while the oncourt stuff was going on initially, WHO IS HE???) or Artest who was also hit from behind by a couple guys.
