Thats not quite stud level . That's a very good prospect but he's not even as big of a prospect as Russell was .

Cubs also recently added Mike Montgomery, another middle relief lefty.

Chapman in 9th
Rondon in 8th
Strop in 7th

will be the formula.

As for middle relief, Edwards and Nathan from the R and Wood, Richard, Montgomery from the L.

Don't really need another lefty. I'd be surprised if any more moves are made, I think this was the big money shot.

Someone has to go down to clear a roster spot for Chapman, I'm guessing Grimm.

Ok.....might be hard to do that in the playoffs. They will probably need to use a lefty against those big lefty bats in Nats and SF lineup. But I think Maddon isn't always by the book so maybe he will use just those righties in the late innings.

Yeah, saying Strop is locked in as the definite 7th inning guy is a stretch. There will be matchup flex, especially in the playoffs.

But I do think the 8th and 9th will be Rondon/Chapman, with little deviation.

If they stay healthy.....no reason they can't win it this year. Incredible lineup....bullpen much better with addition of Chapman. I'm still a little iffy on starting pitching but I only think that's a huge problem against an American League lineup....should be ok against all other teams in the NL postseason....I'm not a Cubs fan really but hoping they get it done this year.

Chapman is a free agent after this season....so they basically rented a hired gun for 3 months....Think the Cubs gave up a little more than they should have....

Cubs are in a win now mentality....

heyward better term step it up to make this deal look great...
