1st and 2nd in the top of the 9th, yanks up 7-5. Posada pops up to 3rd base side and Arod (who was on first) rounds second and as he gets between the SS and the 3B yells "i got it." The ball drops and the Blue Jays were pissed.

Is that cheating or heads up play?

Haha Arod definitely appears to be a cheaper but this isn't an example. Never heard of that happening though. Pretty heads up. Unless it's against the rules or it is intended to injure someone, it ain't cheating.

Cheating, no. Bush League, yes........Actually, if you've ever played or watched any college baseball, colleges do horseshit crap like that all the time. That is minor compared to some of the things they do.

If this is true, its reasons like this that A-Rod is hated amongst his peers.....you're a great ballplayer & a professional.....act like it....he's just a real asswipe. (Plus he was probably pissed he got caught banging that hot blonde in Toronto!)

cheated? nah. semi-bush? maybe, but prob not. similar to defensive linemen yelling out a false cadence in football to get the offensive line to jump.

just saw it, A-Rod had a smirk as he stood on the bag at third after the play....kinda like an outfield 'deek' play.

desperate times call for desperate measures.

Remember when he made that rediculous slap at the first baseman's glove when he was thrown out.

I would think if you're on the other team you call it 'bush league'. If you're on his team he's just trying to win.

If that's what happened, it's completely bush league to the nth degree. It will be dealt with accordingly, the same way baseball deals with every problem. He better put some extra padding in his earhole the next time he bats against this team.

How is that cheating? That's just the same as a hidden ball trick or some other type of fool play. Same thing as a runner like Reyes last night in the Giants game, tricking Benetiz into throwing two balks by causing a distraction.

Just adds a new element to the game, I like it. Smart move.

If it works why is it bush league? Bush league is trying to spike a fielder when sliding into 2nd or running to first. If he had bowled him over with a forearm....that's bush league. Is it bush league when a pitcher fakes to third and throws to first. Or if a fielder fakes the throw to the pitcher and catchers the running not paying attention? All are about deception. I think it's legit. Now if he screamed "I'm going to rape and kill you and your family you (racial explective)" that's bush league.

I think what he did was heads up. And I am not an A-Rod fan and din't bet the game.

It just has no place in the game. This isn't little league.

I have mixed feelings on the play. Clever - yes. But it is poor sportsmanship.

ARod is VERY lucky this happened in the 9th inning of the last game of the series or he'd be leaving TO with ball print in the middle of his back.

Would have been much more interesting had the game been won on the play...I think what he did was fine.

Whats funny as I thought that shit went on all the time. Never thought Arod would have invented distacting guys when they are trying to catch it.

How bout when a ground ball is hit and runner purposely stays infront if the ball to hide it. Is that Bush???

Reminds me of when I was on 1st in Babe Ruth baseball. I steal 2nd, the ump doesn't say anything when I look at him to know if I was safe. The kid playing 2B for the other team tells me the ball was fouled so I ask the ump who says "Yep". I start walking back to first and get tagged out. I freak out and the ump just stands there and tells everyone he didn't say anything. Turns out he was just a year removed from playing with the other team. Complete BS. To this day I'm still pissed about it.

verbal deception is pretty bush league, especially at the professional level. im an alex rodriguez fan. but i can still see how some see it as bush league.

do you ever see defensive players stand at the foul line waving their hands or yelling at the shooter trying to get him to miss? of course not. because its bush.

if there is some type of deception during the normal course of play, thats one thing.

but not this.
