Update
So didn't log into my sports book before i First updated this due to excessive drinking and a UT game I attended. But Won Georgia Tech and had 6 Units on Florida, had picked up Florida at -7.5 also. Little sad that Alabama jumped my team in the rankings but figured it was only a matter of time.

First Play of the week

Rivalry game. I have attended this game for the last 4 years and this is an extremely hostile environment inside the Stadium. There is no crowd advantage. Any advantage leans slightly to OU due to the fact that they have the entrance tunnel and get to taunt, spit, cuss, and throw things at the Longhorns as they enter the field. Now it doesn't matter how bad either team is at this point in the year, when this game happens both teams come to play with everything they have. With that being said would still take Texas with such a low line. Texas has won 3 of the last 4 and is 4-0 ATS in the last 4. Now from watching OU all year their main issue is no offensive line. Texas defense will take advantage of this weak O-line. While OU's new issue in the Baylor game was inability to score touchdowns in the redzone. However, that was Bradford's first game back since his injury and he still had some impressive yardage of 389 but Bradford only completed 27/59 passes. On the other hand McCoy has had 80% completion rating his last two games and average of 73.4% on the year. I know most of these are short gains but still he is a dangerous QB who can hit consistently. McCoy's only flaw so far is he has had at least 1 interception in every game so far. The Colorado interception I am not going to blame on him the pass was tipped off of Shipley's hand into the Colorado players. Both teams so far have been horrible in ATS Texas 1-4 OU 2-3 but most Texas lines have been around 30+ points. Now for keys to the game.

Keys to the Game
Stoops: Stoops still believes he can win the Big 12 south and why shouldn't he. He has won the last 3 and is looking for 4 in row which would be the first school in the Big 12 to do so I believe.

Special Teams: Texas wins this category hands down. Monroe and Shipley make great returns and don't see OU stopping this. Shipley turned the game around last year after a return for a touchdown.

Bradford: Will he be to his full potential this week. My thoughts yes but will have an extremely hard time if his offensive line can't protect him.

Texas 1st half: Sometimes they remind me of last years Dallas Cowboys in the fact their offense just forgets to show up the 1st half. However, if you take a look at it they even out Texas has 236 points on the year of those points there are 118 first half points and 118 second half points an average of 23.6 per half. But in Big 12 play they have only put up 10 in the first half of both games. Texas will have to do better than 10 points in the first half against OU. OU has to many explosive players that may not let Texas be able to struggle through the first half to rebound the second half. Another huge note here is Texas is number 1 in the country at points per game with 47.2 while OU is sitting at number 17.

Texas D: These guys only allow an average of 186.8 yards of passing a game with only 42.6 average rushing yards for a total of 1.6 yards per carry allowed. This means if OU is going to win the game its going to be up to Bradford.

Texas Rush Game? Now Texas does not have a strong rushing game, don't think this is news to anyone, and OU's D has been just as stout as Texas against the rush only averaging 53.6 yards of rushing allowed a game. However, Texas is only 64 yards of rushing behind OU on the season. OU is at 6th in rushing yards in the Big 12 with Texas sitting at 7.

OU Defense: They are sitting at a remarkable 8.4 points per game with Texas sitting at 15 points per game. OU is 3rd in the country at points allowed per game while Texas is ranked 16th. The only two teams that beat OU in this catagory are Florida and Nebraska.

Third down conversions: Both teams are struggling here with Texas at 48% and OU at only 39.7%. Texas needs to pick it up to win this game.

So we have the #1 scoring points per game offense in the country going against the #3 points allowed defense in the country.
This should be a great game and my pick is:

Texas

Now my book doesn't have the game in yet but couldn't wait for the write up have been seeing Texas 1.5 to 3 and am comfortable with any of them. Will have to see what I can get when my book opens it up. At that point I will update this with the spread I take and my wager.

Now for any OU backs there is an extremely interesting trend that predicts OU to win the game outright that I have posted before you can look at here:
