well , well, well

here we have Navy in a completely meaningless game 3 weeks before they play a bowl game they are already locked into

this game means nothing to them

actually would probably rather not risk injuries before a bowl game

and why not roll over and let another service school get into a bowl game

Army gets into Eagle One bowl with a win

so I am thinking the brothers in arms help each other out here

will be even better when bRandon Lang bets on Navy for the game

army +14 5 units
army ml 1 unit

This game means more to them than their bowl game. Don't kid yourself.

This is their rivalry game isn't it? Both will play to win. No doubt!

Based on your post, I don't think so.

Not trying to be a dick, but this game, it could be argued is the single biggest rivalry in sports.

if you think kids going to afghanistan soon care more about a bowl game then getting the last hit in on their brother then you lack common sense. or maybe an only child.... you may hit your bet and i hope you do in all honesty but for completely the wrong reasons

This is the biggest game of the year for both schools. A bowl game is nice addition for the seniors but if you asked players on either team they would all say this game is more important. As someone that lives next to west point and works on west point, i know a lot about this game. Neither school needs the money from a bowl game so don't let that fool you. I hope you cover because i am an army fan but I think Navy is the smarter play here.

The thought did go through my mind, but, not sure if it is at all correct.

Well i will say your post would make since in some situations but if you have ever been in the military then you would know it does not apply here...

As the son of a 30 year career military Navy engineer, I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that this game is treated like the Super Bowl to the two teams involved and the majority of the two service accademies.

Every year at this time, my dad, in his mid 70's now, still mutters to himself "I hate Army"

This game is by no means meaningless.

Plus....now that there are women at the academy, the "you know what factor" comes into play...."No win no-nooky" for weeks and months, perhaps even until redemption next year.

Quite frankly, IO'm surprised "Coldweather" hasn't picked up on this.
