There is a shot i could be there WW....The drive there is no problem but damn i hate driving back. Seems like it takes twice as long to get home. I'll need a few different stars to all line up together but there is no place id rather be than the Derby....and God knows i need a break from poker.
Let me know when your leaving and ill PM u my PH number if Friday or so if it looks like i can make it.

I First Went To Oaklawn

When Pat Day was the "house" rider. Seems like he'd win 5 a day. Long time & many memoreies ago. The best friend I ever had (passed on now), loved AR, taught @ the U, we'd go down every yr, for a long time. Never realized the beauty of the Ozarks till then. Great women & also a great place to fish. (for both) :toast:

Papa Clem should hit the board with Bejarano on him.

I know one thing, i'm sick of Arkansas derby winners being strong Ky. Derby contenders or winners, waiting for the Wood and S.A. Derby winners to get back to being the favs.

trytrytry, my spite is because of Smarty and since then it seems alot of talk and hype goes to the Ark. winners. As whalewager pointed out i said contenders also, because i remember everyone around here(Louisville and KY) it seemed loved that Lawyer Ron, except me, and it i'm pretty sure it was one of the top betting choices in the Ky. Derby. I also remeber Curlin being talked up and being the top choice or morning line fav by batagglia. Oh and Afleet Alex was another that was hyped up.

still trying to figure out how AFLEET ALEX could not win that race..beat by giacomo and closing Argument...yuk I had a $1200 pace wager on him! and when they hit the wire I thought I had second...

anyway, yes there as been some horses with hope form Ark derby..but why not its the richest prep race now and there is some good talent on dirt down there...cant blame the trainers in preping there...
