Coach Gary Kubiak described Foster's practice participation as a "normal Wednesday load for a starter." The indication there is that the Texans expect Foster to start against Miami. "Everything was positive," added Kubiak. "If he can play, you play. There won't be being careful with him." Foster will have to make it through the week setback-free, but early signs are very encouraging. The Texans were smart to avoid rushing Foster back for Week 1. Ben Tate and Derrick Ward will go back to the bench if Foster starts.

McClain also believes Foster is a shoo-in to start against the Dolphins. "Gary Kubiak likes Foster to get at least 25 touches," McClain notes. "Cause he's been out, I bet it'll be somewhere around 20, depending on how game goes." According to McClain, Foster "could have started" in Week 1 against the Colts had it been a playoff game. Foster needs to be penciled into fantasy lineups for now, and monitored into Sunday morning.

"He ended up getting 10. I think it is going to be a process with Arian working back to full speed." It sounds like the Texans will continue to limit Foster's workloads going forward. Ben Tate is going to be the best fantasy play in Houston's backfield until Foster proves his health.

Coach Gary Kubiak said afterwards that Foster "worked real hard" in his rehab, but it's too early to tell how Houston's backfield picture will play out Sunday. We're tentatively expecting the Texans to shut down Foster for at least one week. That would leave Steve Slaton behind Ben Tate, with Derrick Ward (ankle) also not practicing. Foster owners should look elsewhere in Week 3.

Foster may end up being active as the No. 2 back this week, but he's not going to start over Ben Tate until he's back to full strength.

Safely remove him from your fantasy lineups if you haven't already. Ben Tate - who has topped 100 yards in each of the first two games of the 2011 season - will get the start in Foster's place, and should be played as a borderline RB1.

The Texans are 30th in "red-zone percentage," having scored a touchdown on 5-of-16 trips (31%).

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>McClain calls Ben Tate "the backup" after coach Gary Kubiak suggested Monday that Foster should be "full speed, ready to go" this week. Tate has run with impressive power, but he's taking the fall for the Texans' red-zone woes. They've managed one yard or less on 11-of-26 red-zone carries this year. Foster's more dynamic talent will make a difference. This year's Steelers are allowing the 13th-most fantasy points to opposing backs.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"It doesn't go from nothing to everything," said Kubiak. "We've got to bring him along the right way." The situation sounds eerily similar to Week 2, when Foster started the game but only made it through two quarters and didn't play with his usual productivity (3.3 YPC). Owners deep at running back can approach this as a wait-and-see week, especially considering the matchup against Pittsburgh. Foster remains a better Week 4 fantasy play than Ben Tate.
