In 2019, 1,004 people died at the hands of police officers and in 2018, 992. A large number of these fatalities were deemed justified.

It's disingenuous of you to say 1,100 (which isn't an accurate number BTW) died at the hands of cops and something needs to be done. What you should say is a very small handful of unarmed people are killed by cops each year and those cases need to be adjudicated and justice needs to be served.
