A better question is can the greatest defenses of past eras play in today's NFL? No

but each era played with what their era allowed

I like the list but Bucs probably 2nd on it instead of last.

Another question is are we talking one single year or one era.

Because if we're talking an era of the same defense with mostly the same core of players, then that Bucs defense is #1 on the list because it was so dominant for so many years...

Imagine what Mel Blount could do to today's WR's playing under the rules of back then. Peyton's Receivers wouldn't even get off the LOS against Blount.

Understood, but the DB's and WRs were smaller. They would have a much harder time defending WR's now. Passing yards is up 30%+ and every team has a Harold Carmichael.
