I'll second that feeling...

...huge winning streak broken today...KC falls tomorrow as well.

Agree with Jake - have watched 7 of their 10 games and am also a long time Royals follower. A big part of their streak was positive attitude and weak competition. It's great to see but past Hernandez I don't trust the starters. The lineup past Sweeney and Ibanez is very weak. The bullpen looks decent. And during this streak they were very fortunate - and that is what happens during streaks. I hope the Royals stay in it for a while and keep the fans interested. To do that the need career years again from Sweeney and Ibanez. Hernandez has to be great. Affeldt has to show he is for real. And they need someone to step up and win a few games in the third and fourth spots. Hopefully George will be the one. MacDougal looks like he may be for real and Grimsley has always been a great setup man. So there is hope but everything has to go perfect. And as a long time Royals fan - I for one hope it does.

Yeah I agree, but I thought it was worth a $25 shot just to make it interesting.

I wouldnt give much creedence to a 9-0 start in any other division, but since there is no real strong team in this division, a 6-0 (now 9-0 ) start and 30-1 odds make it worth a shot.

Damn I am kicking myself for only laying $25 when it was 30 to 1. They have a tough 2 to 3 weeks after the All Star break but if they can maintain the 7 game lead through that 3 weeks they are sitting pretty. I think 82 wins gets this division.

It will take more than 82 games to win it...why can`t they continue? They have won with people out all year, so there is no reason they can`t win 86 games maybe 88

Who in the hell gave 200-1 on the Royals to win the division???? That has gotta be the most outrageous thing I have ever heard. If a team is 11 games back with 12 to go, then maybe they should be 200-1. In April NO team is ever even close to 200-1 to win a division. Ridiculous, does anyone believe this? I think even 30-1 seems outrageous, we are talking about winning a division, beating out a handful of teams. Oh well, just call me the skeptic...

Tony Pena has done one of the great managing jobs I've ever seen over the first 90 games. Their 2 best hitters, Sweeney and Beltran, have missed a 3rd of the season each. Their regular 3rd baseman Randa, and their semi regular 2nd Baseman Febles also. They've been without their top 3 starting pitchers, for about Half the season. Their bullpen, except for Grimsley and MacDougal has been constantly shuffled and ineffective. And yet they are 10 Games over, and 7 games up. They had given back all their great early start, and were actually one game under, than have come all the way back with all that adversity. Simply amazing, and the way they beat up on this division, no matter what their injury status, no matter who Pena throws out there, leads me to believe that once some of their guys come back, they will continue to blow the doors off the AFC Central race.

Journeyman,

I agree they will win more than 82. I was just saying that if they get to 82 wins that will be enough. I think the Sox and Twins struggle to just play .500 ball. The Royals will win between 82-86 IMO. Glad to see you laying the heavy chalk on Armstrong.

WildBill,

I dont know about the 200 to 1 , but I got them at 30 to 1 at las Palmas. Hell I even got them at +150 last week when they had a 7 1/2 game lead after 90 games.
