I have been struggling, mainly because I do not make the time or effort to do more than cursory handicapping on my own. I try to find someone on this site or a tout who is going well and then tail them. Unfortunately, I think the law of averages is catching up with some of my favorites. I am down four bets plus juice for the bowl season. Not a ton of money, but very frustrating because through the first of December, I was kicking butt.

Been more of a struggle this year than most, that's for sure. I win big one day, lose big the next day. Been burned mostly on overs (Oregon, Mizzou, Houston, etc...). Took a few unders recently and got burned on those as well!:ohno:

I'm having a great bowl season so far and I think it's maybe the easiest time to win except for the opening couple of weeks of the season. This year has had a couple of weird games, but I think too many people get caught up in too much minutia with bowls. It's too hard to compare details with teams that never play IMO. Here are my plays and their outcomes so far with the next two that are on tap.

Wake -3 - WINNER
TCU +3, under 52 - WINNER
FAU +13.5, under 75.5 - WINNER
Cal -2.5, Under 57.5 - WINNER
NW +18.5, under 72 - WINNER
Pitt +8.5, Under 57.5 - WINNER
BC -3 - LOSER
Kansas -9 - WINNER
GT +3.5, Over 45 - LOSER
Iowa -3 - WINNER
UGA -7 - WINNER
Mich St +10 - LOSER (hedge on the line steam at 1/3 the original play)
SoCal -9 - WINNER
Ole Miss +10.5, Over 59.5
Bama -9

Amen on that. The totals have been the biggest problem for me, no doubt. If you look at the margin by which it missed, my over bet in the Sun Bowl (49 points short) is the worst I have ever made.

Phil Steele is the best college football handicapper on the planet IMO. This guy lives, eats, and breathes college football 365 days a year. That is the only sport he handicaps. The rest of these clown touts are just glorified salesmen. It is no wonder that Steele kicks their ass year in and year out.

What is phl steele record.I buy his preseason mag every year.Where do you find his picks ?

I forget who posted these, but I have played all these games including Va. Tech and have done very well. There is a thread on here that a guy started about the Sagarin-rated teams and these were the ones that fit the system. I missed the first three and the Air Force game (too early in the morning) but have followed the rest. So I am 7-2 following these plays. I am debating on taking Alabama because everyone is on them and that scares me, plus they are getting ten. A good team with something to prove getting 10 is too much during this time of the year.

1. Wake Forest (32, 4 SOS) over Navy (39, 74 SOS) WINNER
2. South Florida (49, 59 SOS) over Memphis (100, 117 SOS)WINNER
3. Arizona (41, 78 SOS) over BYU (23, 83 SOS) WINNER
4. TCU (9, 76 SOS) over Boise State (11, 113 SOS) LOSER
5. Notre Dame (58, 36 SOS) over Hawaii (82, 72 SOS) WINNER
6. NC State (47, 3 SOS) over Rutgers (38, 67 SOS) WINNER
7. Missouri (13, 30 SOS) over Northwestern (37, 64 SOS) LOSER
8. Maryland (50, 21 SOS) over Nevada (60, 88 SOS) - WINNER
9. Rice (63, 101 SOS) over Western Michigan (57, 109 SOS) WINNER
10. Air Force (48, 77 SOS) over Houston (65, 102 SOS) LOSER
11. Kansas (33, 23 SOS) over Minnesota (66, 69 SOS) WINNER
12. USC (5, 38 SOS) over Penn State (6, 61 SOS) WINNER
13. Kentucky (67, 73 SOS) over East Carolina (52, 75 SOS) 01/02
14. Alabama (7, 58 SOS) over Utah (8, 70 SOS) 01/02
15. Connecticut (42, 40 SOS) over Buffalo (55, 82 SOS) 01/03
16. Ball State (36, 116 SOS) over Tulsa (56, 122 SOS) 01/06

Sorry I can't commend the person who posted these ratings, but thanks!
