What is the amount set one
makes to receive no $$?

I think its 200k

I believe the exact amount for a single individual is $99K, with $75K as the "floor".
This means anyone earning $75 K or less gets the full $1200. The payout is reduced
incrementally down to zero at $99K.

The stimulus check shrinks by $50 for every $1000 in earnings that exceed $75K.
At least that's what the Detroit Free Press tells me...

EDIT: Yes, the amounts double for couples file jointly. That's why the wife and I will
eventually get $2400.

A lot of people are waiting on their checks, and I don't really see any correlation save for two possibilities

1) they don't have your banking information

2) you haven't filed 2019 return yet

don't they use 2018 if 2019 not filed ?

I heard they aren't even processing 2019 now

If you get social security you don't have to file. My mom gets it and has direct deposit. Still nothing. Many others is same situation. Typical incompetent government. problem is there seems to be no answer for this.

Correct, but getting info from the SSA for non-filers takes more time

correct, but I'm almost certain that delays the process too.

Single phase out between $ 75k and 99k

Joint $ 150k to 198K

Head of household something in the middle of those two, phaseout starts at $ 112.5K

Once your AGI exceeds the higher number, you get zero

Correct Doug

I haven’t had success trying to change my info online

Most haven't had success, you're not alone

It's 10:10 AM, I've already received 5 class from people looking for their stimulus check. We're in uncharted waters

On Social Security with direct deposit but file return because I have interest income. It keeps saying on IRS.Gov site that I qualify and it also shows my checking account information but says they still don't a date for payment. Don't know what is taking so long.

I’m not laid off they made fill out a request personal leave form

why the Hell did you do that, when it wasn't by your request ? Your crappy employer got out of paying unemployment that you rightfully qualify for

Don't worry about things you have no ability to change, you can't change a cloudy day into a sunny one.

it might be advisable to check the weather to see if you need an umbrella or coat, but you have to deal with it, or move.

nothing you can do will change when you get the money provided you filed in at least 2018, if not and you just sent in 2019, it may be a while, IMO !

TRust whatever Willie says, but many are waiting still.

it seems to me the people that really are cashing in on this free money are those getting unemployment and now $600/ extra....pretty good if you were getting $300 before, now you can go deliver pizzas under the table for Uncle Mario, and you're way better off, you come out like a masked bandit , literally !
