‘Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ Sets Final Guests As NBC’s Bob Greenblatt Addresses Jay Leno’s Future, …

UPDATED: February 2014 will feel a lot like May 2009 on The Tonight Show. In 2009, when Jay Leno bid farewell to the late-night show for the first time, his final two episodes featured his first guest when he made his Tonight Show debut in 1992, Billy Crystal, followed by a visit by his Tonight Show successor, Conan O’Brien, the next night. Five years later, Leno’s second final week at The Tonight Show will once again feature his new successor, Jimmy Fallon, on Feb. 6, and Crystal on Leno’s last show, Feb. 6, which also will feature musical guest and longtime Leno friend, Garth Brooks. Other guests on Leno’s final week include Betty White, Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock.

Could Leno do a car show next? Acknowledging Leno in his opening remarks for his successful turn on The Tonight Show, Greenblatt noted, “I’m hoping we will enter into a new relationship with him and keep his home on NBC.” Asked about Leno’s prospects at NBC post-Feb. 6, he later said, “I would love him to do specials with us, and other shows he could host.” After the session, he noted that “it may be a series franchise,” adding that “Jay loves cars” but declining further specifics. Leno obviously is a big car enthusiast, and his Jay Leno’s Garage is very popular online. Greenblatt confirmed that Leno is focused on The Tonight Show and not entertaining any future opportunity until he signs off from the show. Asked about possible regrets about sending Leno off while the show was still No.1, Greenblatt said, “Jay always said he wanted to turn the show over at No.1.”

I think The Tonight Show ratings will be going way down with Fallon. They may be very high the 1st week as a few people will be checking out the newcomer out of curiosity. Fallon has improved but still sucks as a talk show host. He has talents but not at this job.

I just don't see Fallon as a prime-timer. His humor definitely isn't for the mass audience. I think NBC will find this out, unless they have some tricks up their sleeve to give him some help. But I don't see his 12:30 show in it's present form translating very well to the Leno slot.

First, its the Carson slot not the Leno slot. Doesnt matter who NBC puts in there, noone is better than Carson was.

I don't think Fallon is on that level yet. Kimmel is on that level but he's on NBC.

Either way I don't care. I don't watch late night shows regularly. The market is oversaturated with them and they're mostly identical to each other.

Personally I think Kimmel is the best. I liked Leno too as they do have some funny side videos and stuff. I watch them a few days later as I'm not up that late. I used to like Letterman but now he seems kind of creepy. Anyone else get that feeling with him nowadays?
I actually think Conan was a better choice slightly over Fallon and we know how disastrous that was.Is Conan still on? I haven't watched him in years.

I still like Letterman but I don't care for the monologue or any of the bits they do. He's the best during interviews.

Conan ain't bad but I only watch him on youtube here and there.

This is one of the best bits I've seen them do involving Triumph the dog.

Skip to the 1 minute mark. They visit some hot dog place in Chicago where the workers insult the customers on purpose. They send some wimpy intern that gets eaten alive and then Triumph comes in and kicks ass.
