They only offered us $.70 per live pound at the sale barn auction a few weeks ago for the cattle. Dummy me brought the SOBs back home. Only got 10 head right now, and it’s costing me $400/months to feed em, and they ain’t eating as good as they should, either...

I got one Brahma bull that I love and wouldn’t get rid of for anything, the rest of these bitches and bastards should consider themselves very lucky...lol

Around how many flakes do you feed your cows per day ? these are fat and happy the cows at the farm backing or pasture look like athletes compared to these guys.
I think they've had it well.

We have Brahmas and Ameraucana's
You have a pond for those mallard's Brendanjack? we have a ton of water in the area but no pond..yet.
No pond I live in a waterfront community on peconic bay . My shop is near spring farm where they shoot ducks and pheasant. Late spring my wife is always finding stragglers baby mallards and brings them home. TypicAlly the males don’t return to our house but some of the females do. Very amusing hearing a duck walk around in the kitchen.

My son has about 10 cows now, and he is finding out the same thing, its a big money loser unless you can grow your own feed or food for them to eat....my son has been buying bags of feed at tractor supply and its expensive, plus he gives them hay and water, where we live it can get really cold so we have to keep their water tubs heated. Def a money loser at only 10 cows, plus you have to have people willing to buy a half or quarter cow when its time to process them. A lot of work for sure and we do not even milk them, his are strickly meat cows

I’d be lucky to make $40k annually on 200 head. It’s crazy...

And that will work your ass to death in a hurry...
