Love G-Money's suggestions...

If you want to bump it up a notch try the 1969 Le Montrachet Chateau Poligny for the Shrimp prbably around $250 for the Cow I would suggest a Lafite Rothschild or maybe an early '90's Opus one.

The smart thing to do would be buy a cheaper white togo with the alfredo and enjoy that Grand Cru you suggested on it's own....

Well, when your ready for good wine, Track down a 1997 Tignanello. Its with be hard to find and cost you between 150 and 250 but well worth it. Give it at least 20 minutes to breath. If you can put way more on a game, try it!

Egri Bikaver (bulls blood from Eger) is a world famous Hungarian export wine and my favorite. A dry red table wine, it's perfect for pork, rib or beef dishes.

Don't let the price fool you -- 90% of the price of California and French wines is marketing -- big waste of money in most cases.

The best year recently was 1999, but 2000 is not bad either...

If you try it and don't like it I'll give you your money back by Neteller.

The link may not list the Egri wines. In this case type "egri" in the search box and hit enter.

In exceptional years Fonseca will make the decision to ‘declare’ a classic vintage port. Only the finest wines, selected for their great intensity, depth and aging potential, are bottled under these vintage labels. On average this happens three times a decade. Renowned for their voluptuous rich fruit, mouthfilling density, tannic structure and ‘grip’, they are wines of breed, balance and great complexity.... more

For the shrimp here's "Great Values in California Chardonnay" in Wine Spectator.

Geyser Peak Chardonnay Sonoma County $12
Meridian Chard Santa Barbara $10
Stone Cellars Chard Cal $8
Beringer Chard Cal Founders Estate $12
Shale Ridge Chard Monterey $8
Bogle Chard Cal $9
Esser Chard Cal $9
Fetzer Chard Cal Sundial $10
Lawson Ranch Chard Monterey County $8
Pepperwood Grove Chard Cal $9
Smoking Loon Chard Cal $9
Beaulieu Vineyard Chard Cal Coastal Estates $11
Blackstone Chard Monterey County $11
Carmenet Chard Cal Cellar Selection $9

All are inexpensive and widely available. For chardonnay, fresh is usually best, so pick up the latest vintage.

I like this thread. I like it very much. However, what I find extremely humorous is that Aceduecetrey and the fine lady have had dinner with the appropriate wines. They fell in love as she thought Ace was intelligent and capable as he had obviously given much thought and care to the selections of wines with dinner. She thought to herself, if he cares this much and is so knowledgeable about wines...what would he be like with our children? So, they married. They have three children now; two cute little girls and one boy, the oldest. They have moved to Napa Valley where Ace has started a small vineyard and plans to label the wine produced there: Le Prescriptionable.

AND we're still giving wine recommendations!!! Good ones, albeit. tulsa
