haha, the truth is it's hard to watch TV nowadays without finding political bullshit, even ESPN has joined the act
So if I'm not watching live sporting events, I'm watching movies or something on demand. Occasionally something like the History Channel.
Never watch the news except for stuff like local weather and election "results", with an emphasis on results and not commentary.
I'm so repulsed by media bias I can't even watch bias reporting from somebody I agree with in the political arena. I'd rather have more honest debates.
In college, back in the days I was actually a democrat (my first presidential vote was cast for Jimmy Carter), I wrote a paper on how the media creates the news. It was a-political, and it was borrowed a few times over the years by other people
, but it was all about how the media controls the stuff we think about. They literally control the nation's consciousness. For example, there can be 10,000 murders in the USA in any given year, but we only talk about the very few murders the media chooses to focus on. That example is the low hanging fruit, but the same rules apply across matters in our lives. They control the message, they control the narrative, they tell us what to think about, and their headlines are all many people know about any given topic. So their spin is critically important to the nation's perspective.
