Anyone ever went to a Gamblers Anoymous meeting?

As opposed to all the winners here? Go down to the sports forums and look at all the great threads like "Heath Bell is a cocksucker motherfucker and I hope he dies" after giving up a run, or "WTF is wrong with the Rays, they fucking suck!"

In general, gamblers are delusional losers. Certainly not all, as I've met some good people here.

Went to GA. One guy took $300,000 from wives medical insurance and blew it gambling and wife died due to no more money for insurance. Another guy threw his girlfriends kid through a window just for walking in front of the TV while he was watching his money lose on a hockey game. You really do hear sick stories at these meetings. i only attended a few meetings cause my girlfriend gave me an ultimatum, but after a few meetings I told her I chose gambling, think I made a mistake.

Today, I don't have a gambling problem, and I can recognize people that do

Chasing, looking for a bailout, desperate for a late night play, angry after losing, admitting sleepless nights, too much drama in their threads or with their picks, and those that simply admit they have a problem

As a teen I went to a meeting, "reformed gambler" dude running the thing told us about this time he went to the track and bet too much and had rent problems....tried to make it seem like it was a long time ago but slipped some details out in the ensuing converstation and we figured it happened about a week ago
