Dice is like a drug. It's so fun to win, but once you win big, you're chasing that high that you got.
For all the people that have never played, don't start. It is the most pure form of degenerate gambling. Now if you want to play in Vegas once a year, fine. But keep it as entertainment, as there is nothing that can possibly happen at a craps table besides losing money.
I've heard some terribly sad stories from craps players. I played poker in Vegas with a guy that said he lost 50K a year for 30 years, until he finally quit. I played craps in St Louis with a guy that lost about 20K a year for 20 years, and he was still playing. And these guys were not wealthy. The guy in St Louis was like a painter or something. They both said that they had no regrets, that the highs they got from craps were so much fun. It's very similar to a drug, seriously.
