Look at consumer reports and Jeep gets terrible ratings. Neice had a Honda traded it in for Jeep. Went on vacation two months later driving from North Dakota to Arizona. Went 4 wheel driving and then it would go out of 4 wheel and could go 30 mph. Had to have it towed in and then traded it in for a different Jeep to get home. Cost her about $2500.
On the other hand I had a Honda van. Bought it with 65,000 miles on it. At about 80,000 it didnt want to accelerate. I took it in and they said a spark plugged jumped out and somehow got into the engine. Never heard of anything like this before. It needed a rebuilt engine to the tune of $6,500. The timing belt needs to be replaced at 100,000 which is about $1,200. They put in a new timing belt and rebuilt the engine and charged me $1,200. Honda picked up the balance.
About six months later Honda made a follow up call me direct to ask me about my van and what I thought about the assistance they had given because all communications was through the dealership. The van happened to be in the shop that day for some other thing. I just told them I expected Honda engines to not have problems like that and that is why I buy their product. She put me on hold and called the dealership. Came back and said there would be no charge for any service done that day and they would also me a check for anything I paid previously for having an issue. I later received a check for $1,400
That is why I have purchased 3 more Honda's and not GMC or Jeeps.
