I like it. The regular season is long enough and the games too. It cuts to the chase and finds a winner quickly. I hate it when games would go beyond 12 innings during the regular season especially a night game.

I like the rule with the long grind of the season but I think you need to play at least 1 to 3 extra innings with the regular game rules then switch to the runner on 2nd to start the inning rule.

Was at Reds/Cards game and saw time clock never saw one at any game. Used for what seemed it was running in between pitches/innings MUST BE ANOTHER CHANGE, just read....

However, there’s a big difference between a leisurely two-hour game and those regularly slogging in at three-and-a-half hours for only nine innings of play. So Major League Baseball put in new clocks — the baseball equivalent of shot clocks, essentially — to quicken the pace by shortening the breaks between innings and pitching changes. The League also instituted regulations requiring hitters to keep a foot in the batter’s box, with notable exceptions (e.g. foul balls, wild pitches, time outs). The shot clocks are 2 minutes, 25 seconds for locally televised games and 2 minutes, 45 seconds for nationally televised games. Pitchers have to throw their last warm-ups before 30 seconds remain.

  • New pitcher restrictions. First and foremost, pitchers now must face a minimum of three batters or complete the half-inning in question before being removed from the game.
The extra inning rule is simple: it puts a runner at second base to start the inning once a game reaches the 11th inning. The player in the batting order immediately preceding that inning’s leadoff hitter will be placed on second base.

If I player throws a no hitter in a 7 inning game it does not count as a no hitter .
This happened last season

I love the man on 2nd rule.

If they can't figure out who wins in 9 innings, then time to speed shit up.

The bring in a pitcher they must face three batters is more upsetting to me. Baseball is like a chess match and they are screwing it up.

I think they're trying to speed it up for this generation of ADHD kids who don't like Chess or the slow game of Baseball.
Isn't it more like Chess if the manager has to think 3 batters ahead?? I don't know.
